You don't know how long it was since you were stuck in this situation.

Perhaps 'how long' is a misnomer.

You haven't felt, tasted, smelled or saw anything since your arrival, which could have been 'not long ago' or 'a whole eternity'. There was no pain, no suffering, but also no joy or happiness, you just were.

"Looks like you're stuck", said a voice you couldn't recognise, save for the fact it felt distinctively masculine.

You don't know how long it took for you to respond, for it was as if you had to remember how to talk again. Yet with great effort you managed to string syllable into words again, even if your first attempts were clumsy and broken.

"W-w-ho a-a-r-e y-y-ou?"

"Who I am isn't really important", replied the voice with what you remembered was amusement, "you know what? I'm feeling charitable today. I can send you back to the world of living, even if it won't be necessarily your original world. Still, beats this wretched existence, don't you think?"

You pondered for a while, or maybe it was an instant, about the proposal.

"W-why m-m-m-m-e?"

"Don't overestimate your own importance, I was just passing through and found you. Though your situation isn't exactly common it also isn't unheard of either, and could have been solved itself over time. An unspecified, mind boggling long amount of time perhaps, but it would resolve itself none the less. You remain silent for a while, mulling over his words. It's not like you remember being all that special yourself before so there isn't much to talk about it, however the proposal is rather tempting. Not really seeing the drawback to it, you accept the help.

"Good, good. I'm sure you will be able to fit right in on your new home."

You are a healthy little girl from the old Kamiyo family. Currently a rich family of landowners, some says your family is descended from ninjas or samurais.

That's not exactly true, though it does possess a few shades of truth. After all, your family comes from a long lineage of demon hunters.

Part of the japanese Demon Hunter Association, your family members were dispatched to several parts of the country to deal with supernatural problems, even dealing with some fairly powerful Dead Apostles though not the only threats they encountered so far.

But none of that matters to you at all at the moment, for you have just arrived on the world!

Your name is Kaoru Kamiyo, and your only duties for now is to grow up strong and healthy.

Kamiyo Family
The true origins of the family are lost in the sands of time, but it can be traced to the Heian period at the earliest. Legend says the Patriarch of the family was a powerful wandering warrior that married with a shinto priestess after rescuing her from an attack against rampaging demons, and from there it started the family tradition of hunting the supernatural who preys on the humanity.

Though not necessarily a family of magi, the talent have been present in numerous family members in the past, with their circuits passing down to a form of family treasure generation after generation, protected by the head of the family and handed down only to those who are determined worthy.

Possess cordial relationship with other clans from the association, such as the Ryougi and the Nanaya clans, though little actual contact save in very few circumstances.

You sleep and dream, of a life that ended a long time ago.

As you enter on the house you can't help but feel disgusted by the scent of rotting corpse, still you progress inwards the house. You draw your pistol and light the flashlight, slowly walking forwards.

You received a call earlier that a murder happened in this abandoned building earlier and was sent to investigate. Though the smell doesn't match with 'earlier', the fact that a murder happened here is probably spot on. As you turn to another door you notice your partner is nowhere in sight.

"[ ], are you there?" You say on the radio, receiving only static as an answer. "[ ] answer me. I thought you were watching my back! Do you copy?"

Nothing but static.

You were about to turn back and look out for your partner when you heard a noise coming on the next room. Taking a deep breath you aim your pistol and slowly creep forwards. The vision that greeted you was almost surreal.

You partner was sprawled on the ground, a pool of blood under him, and a blood stained woman was busy eating away his throat.

You freeze in place, not really understanding what happened.

How did you missed this? There was no sound, no indication, nothing that would hint about this impossible turn of events. Your partner wasn't out of your sight for more than a whole minute damn it!

The woman suddenly turned her head towards you, and slowly started to stand up.

You tried to yell to her to freeze in place, but just as you took in her pale features, she suddenly moved far too fast for you to keep up. By some miracle you managed to fire a single shot, hitting her squarely on the head. You didn't had the time to ponder how she keep advancing as you felt your neck being bitten, a large spray of blood coming out of your wound just as the woman keep trying to scratch at you and bite you.

Without understanding anything, you felt light headed, and soon darkness followed.

This was the most useful and clear dream you had yet, and if it weren't for the phantom pain that of the attack that followed you for a whole day, you would dismiss it as just something you saw on the television. Other dreams were much less coherent for you to understand, or were simple glimpses of a mundane life.

Right now I'm wondering why the dreaming option is still there.

You can't simply stay like this forever, so you try to push yourself to your limits.
