I can only assume this brilliant fic has been so overlooked because of the multicross tag. It's amazing and I love all of it.

I guess maybe most people don't look out of the NSFW section. I sometimes wonder if I should request it be moved there, since there's stuff like Beware of Chicken there that doesn't seem to be NSFW either (unless it has added smut I don't know about I guess).

WTF is going on? This chapter is very disjointed. I don't recognize half of these people - the names mean nothing to me. I've seen Kung Fury but don't remember the names of most characters there either (besides "Hackerman"). Most of that movie was deliberately nonsensical - so are we supposed to think that all of it happened, complete with robotic eagle, t-rex, and time travel to see and fight with Norse gods with miniguns? So what happened with the kung fu Hitler? Can Hackerman still hack time???

The whole trip to the island on the lake, whatever was under the lake, etc., was very confusing. There could have been a side story of some sort that explained this, introduced the characters, explained why there was a fake cop questioning people, and so on. Without that it is not making any sense.

It also looks like there have been huge time jumps in this story, without any indication of such a jump? For example, at one point Flamel talks about going diving around New Jersey, and then apparently he has found Osiris? I also had to look up the history of Osiris on the Stargate wiki to figure out what he was doing off the coast of New Jersey. Finally, what happened to Isis and her jar - why is there a discrepancy there?

Furthermore, I barely remember what Harry's saw during his Haloween journey. There should have been reminders of some sort that tied his memories to the situations in this chapter. E.g. characters should have repeated his statements or descriptions of what he saw, after which we should have seen them diving off the coast of New Jersey looking for something. Then the chapter should have had a description of the diving expedition and what they found - I imagine there are hundreds of shipwrecks off the coast of New Jersey, so it's not clear how exactly they found anything. Only later should we have seen things from Osiris' perspective.

What walls? What betrayal? Is there a chapter or two missing between the previous one and this latest one?

Wait, so Dumbles, Flamel, and Sirius split up after leaving the chamber. After which Sirius apparently went straight towards Harry, who was next to the gates. However, as soon as he got there both Dumbles and Flammel were apparently there already? Did they take separate routes to the same location somehow, arrived there simultaneously, but never saw each other on the way?

Why is nobody commenting that muggles should not even be able to see Hogwarts or come close to it? We know that these are not regular muggles, but others do not. Also, how did the students know that somebody was coming up to the castle long enough to congregate there?

There does feel like there were some time skips involved and a scene missed.

Harry likely feels betrayed as either of his two parent/custody choices were going to take him from Hogwarts. Heck, at that point, even Albus would likely send him away. Albus's reasoning would be to keep Harry away from Albus and any of his various plots. If Harry's not around, Albus shouldn't be able to accidentally screw with him.

You really have to read between the lines here on Sirius. Seems like there was an attempt at bonding, but it crashed and burned once Sirius told him that he wasn't going back.

All those muggles need a bit more explaining. Seems like time or time travel happens around that group a bit far too much.

I've enjoyed this Harry. We can actually feel how connected that he is to his mentor. Poor Sirius doesn't have the same connection and though there is a family link, there are issues at the moment.

So could the goauld be mistaken for the void spawn? I was leaning towards more actual eldritch space creatures rather than mere goauld. You know things out there actually millions or billions of years old.

Lmao guys, this is literally the introductory chapter for a lot of these characters. It would be weird and amateurish to have them just exposition their way through all the things that are usually unstated facts of their day to day lives, and as a multicross fusion a big part of the world building is slowly revealing how the parts of the various narratives fit together instead of just jamming settings into each other with no regard for narrative structure.

    So like...

...I saw Everything, Everywhere all at Once yesterday - after the hype at the Oscars I thought it might be worth it...

I much prefer Everything, Everywhere - one thing at a time :p

Remarkable how close the title is given KA started writing this several years ago now...

Just half of one actually. I began writing this after that movie came out, but before I watched it. And I didn't much like it either, if I'm honest, the first part was alright, the second part was cringe, the ending beat all karma houdinis.

I apologise if posting within six months of the last OP post counts as necroing a thread.

Huh. I thought this story was a lot older than that. I probably got it confused with the multiverse acid trip Guardian's of the Galaxy one...

Yes, I found the movie very odd - disjointed, confusing and more or less pointless as it didn't bring anything new to the sub genre of multiverse story telling. Personally, I feel Avengers, Inception, Matrix, Minority Report and practically every sci fi show in the last 25 years have addressed the same/similar concepts much better.

It also felt like it was trying to hit Steven Chow-type off the wall humor while telling the story - parts of it felt like it wanted to be kung-fu hustle/shaolin soccer - but I personally felt it wound up just being unecessarily gross instead. I feel humor has gone past funny and into off color when they have to mosaic bits out in a so called 'family movie'.

Not quite sure what all the fuss is. Maybe the general public who are not sci fi fans were impressed?

All other movies that came out of Hollywood in the past... many years have been crap. Nothing better to compare it to, low quality has dragged expectations in the gutter, that's all it is.

Well, given this is a Multicrossover, and there are dark objects and beings which feed on the life-force and/or emotions of others, I suppose there could be room for the elements from Hogwart's Legacy, particularly if the Protagonist from the story could potentially be made into one of the Big Bads of the fic, having consumed the psychic energies contained within the Repository under the castle, or is it's Keeper, having lived under the castle for over the century protecting the Repository from being plundered.

Though now I'm picturing this fic's version of Nicholas Flamel giving anyone a glare if they don't specify exactly WHAT kind of Ancient Magic that any "late bloomers" could naturally work without having gone through the mental/spiritual practices most probably would have to through.

FLAMEL: As ritual workings and shamanism/theurgy are obviously not a factor, was it a natural ability to tap into the multi-varied or selective ambient energies and forces of the supernal, the "late-blooming" being a side-effect..... or was it the other way around, beingbmore a result of unconscious internal cultivation? Specifically, did their strength steadily build up over time within, not unlike how one may charge a spell, expressing itself only when it reached a certain point when the wizard reached a specific age, granting them access to expressions of Magic most are unable to achieve in a lifetime without significant training and rites of initiation?

NIAMH: We were never sure what it IS, exactly. Truth be told, our main concern was in how this Magic should, and should not be used, and maintaining the Secrecy of it's existence, rather than investigating it's true nature. It doesn't even have a proper name, and we Keepers certainly never even gave it one.

    FLAMEL: .....I'm burning your portrait.

Alas, I haven't updated my PC in ages, my gaming days are behind me, so I won't be able to play Legacy for the foreseeable future even if I had the craving. So it's supremely unlikely anything in that game will show up here.

Not sure I'd do it even if I did play it, everything I've seen while avoiding spoilers has left me rather meh on the whole thing.

Heretical as it may sound, at times I find watching walkthroughs with no commentary to be a more preferable and cheaper alternative to buying a game.

Well, I for one am glad for the necromancy, as it’s what lead me to this brilliant story. Karmic Acumen, you never disappoint. Harry Potter crossed with Flowers for fucking Algernon? How do you come up with these things? Fascinating as always. This is the second of your stories I’ve read, and it is as much of a rollercoaster as the first.

Discovering this story made my day. I just hope the withdrawal and craving for more won’t ruin my tomorrow. :D

Honestly, the potential of intelligence boosting surgery deserves exploration, and Charlie and Alice just deserved better, so why not give it to them if I can?

This particular brain surgery also means one (big) fewer restrictions on the narrative role of all characters who get it.

Wonder where Wit-Sharpening Potions could fit in compared to that particular brain surgery. Seems a pity they only get a mention in the books and aren't fully explored, same with cheering charms, both of which would have been something of help when putting up with Snape's classes.

Hell, actual consciousness expanding nootropics could be a thing, (purified ectoplasm combined with "Essence of Ayahuasca", aka "DMT", anyone?), but are probably banned or heavily restricted under Wizarding Law for most countries, save a few that allow their use for religious/recreational purposes, or genuine psychonautic research.

Nah, I'm having them all be potion ingredients.

Wizards and witches already have expanded consciousness - that's why they can see and interact with magical creatures and beings while muggles can't even perceive them. The effect of ayahuasca would be, shall we say, a bit different than for normies. But that would be me going into the issue of what magic actually is and does in this story.

That said, psychonautics are canon in Stargate, so I won't be shying away from that research tree either.

Not to mention how Animagi can retain their minds while assuming their animal forms, even as something small like a rat or a beetle... .
