The issue with logging in with email addresses has been resolved.
Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
I can see Palpatine being genuinely impressed with the Seventh Brother's success here. It could be his one bright spot in the fury of the Death Star being destroyed. I can also see him investing in a task force of mech troopers.
While Palp may have purposely built the Empire to be inefficient...
If there is one good thing about the new canon, it's that Palpatine purposely designed the Empire to violently explode once he dies. It fits his personality and goals more then leaving a semi-stable legacy. If he can't have the galaxy, no one can.
My own headcanon is Hyperspace ramming requires you to be close enough to the target that they could easily disable your engines in the time it takes to charge the Hyperdrive, and that for it to be even mildly effective you need a capital ship sized vessel. Example, the Battle of Yavin in the...
So now he rules over two systems. This feels like CK2 where you eat up neighbouring counties until you claim the Dukedom, then Kingdom before forming your own Empire.
That's just the sign of a great writer. Thinking ahead without even realising it.
I would love to see a sequel to this, even if it's just short vignettes of important or fun scenes.
Otherwise I'll be at work constantly thinking what if?
Damn you, you've cursed me with post-story depression. :p
Honestly mind control is cringe. Better to take your supporters and go independent like Farsight. Be the shining beacon on the hill that converts the other Tau be showing them there is a better way.
Oh well. It'll still be interesting to see where this goes.
For MAC'S the best use would be ground based defence guns, like the one at the end of Reach. On the ground they have access to significantly more power than ship mounted ones, meaning they can be smaller while retaining the stronger impact, plus big hostile ships closer to a planet's atmosphere...
As someone who works for a local council's rates department, most people who overpay their rates want them refunded now, not discounted from the next year. I don't doubt that would extend to other types of taxes.
I could see the rebels deciding to keep their heads down in the sector, using the place purely as a logistic hub for neighbouring regions, lest they risk the ISB coming down on their head.
Plus with only 2 years until the Empire explodes the odds of the ISB investigating for rebels is very low...
I hope he eventually goes independent. Because the Empire is fucking horrible. Not just morally, but because it's culture promotes and glorifies incompetence and inefficiency.
Then again, fascism never is a effect form of governance. Just look at the Nazis.
I went my entire school life with this one classmate, never realising they were Muslim until in year 10 because to them religion was personal thing, not something to shove in people's faces. Which is probably the best way to handle it in fiction.
For me, I hate the lack of timeskips. A isekai...
