Anyone who wants to join the "Epic Scale Tinker Taylor" author community, please marathon A Cloudy Path on SB or SV. Read comments too (at least both post-quit exchanges). It is the best primer available on a do (well done fight scenes) and MANY don'ts of that field (given epic power, the story should have more things epic than just the word count). Then read Playing with Legos and Revenant for do's.
