So, considering the following review from sseth, how yay or nay is it to anyone personal experience to Elin?

I've only played a bit of the demo so I haven't even scratched the surface but from what I've read, more or less. Your playstyle is exactly as unhinged as you want it to be near as I can tell. Be a farmer, be a travelling musician, be a hooker, be a slave trading slumlord, do a genetic engineering on your crops/livestock/"livestock", etc.

Oh right, if anyone who was wondering about the Nintendo Direct third party showcase basically nothing they showed was actually an exclusive. I think the only one that was Hyrule Warriors.

Kinda looks we're playing War again. Unless they intend to once again shift gameplay styles and have all of them playable in some capacity.

The legendary saga of the Four Horsemen continues in Darksiders 4, an all-new action-adventure set in an apocalyptic version of earth and continues where the original Darksiders game left off.
  • Choose Your Horseman
Take up one of the legendary Horsemen—each with their own unique weapons and combat styles
  • Cinematic Combat
Experience fast-paced, visceral action blending melee, fluid traversal, and supernatural abilities.
  • Expansive Realms to Explore
Journey through apocalyptic landscapes - each teeming with secrets, enemies, and mythic bosses.

Huh. Admittedly, I liked the first one's Zelda style gameplay best but that's neat.

Question, is it possible to buy a Steam Deck from Amazon or someplace else besides Steam?

So it's not dead. I assume this is the one where you play as the secret 5th Horseman, Gutterball, with bowling themed combat.

Sounds like that's actually the last few seconds at the end of Darksiders 1 reimagined for an announcement trailer, when War stands back up after Armageddon proper's been announced. Kinda missing the Armageddon Blade itself in that bit though :V

I do hope it ends up a bit more like the first and second games though.

I dropped the first Darksiders because every enemy was a damage sponge.

What do you call the aesthetic of semi-realistic detailed sprites featuring willowy dudes wearing goggles and hard-hats like in Factorio or D.O.R.F.? I keep subconsciously thinking TF2 but only due to the engineer. Although it could also be due to a shared retrofuturistic industry aesthetic.

Bought it, played over 60 hours of it in like a week and a half which should tell you all you need to know.

The game is the unholy combination of Stardew Valley, Terraria, and a roguelike. That should be enough to tell you this game is like crack. Very difficult crack at times, but still crack. There's a billion different things to do. I've mostly been focusing on dungeon diving and building my farm. Even after that many hours I'm lucky if I can take a level 9 dungeon so the progression here is very slow. There are already some decent mods to let you play how you want e.g disabling the food rot system or the D&D magic spell charges. Or the gazillion or so thirsty enemy sprite replacements as shown in Sseth's review.

I've been living the traveling musician life. Even got a real microphone instead of somehow playing a pair of panties like a violin. Been thinking of trying to make my base slightly less trash and learn to make my own gear instead of gambling with the blacksmiths. Maybe yoink some beds from cities and set up a better inn so I can have more passive income while I work on crafting skills.

Also yeah, it's ridiculously hard sometimes. When you start getting famous enough for quests that say something like "some dipshit stole a bucket from a dungeon and now the monsters are coming to kill us," don't take them. The danger level on those is a lie because it only refers to the first wave of monsters.

From my understanding there's no way to craft anything but basic armor and weapons. Anything better will have to be looted. The only exception to this is the hillfolk workshop way out east in the snow area that sells certain ones for small medals. It's also one of the places where you can get further treatments for ether disease(Second symptom I was hit for was a whopping -15 vitality and -10 endurance so I didn't have a choice, I only made it by the skin of my teeth sacrificing my companion to escape an ambush).

As for money, as Sseth says in the video make wine. Get the blueprint for the barrel from... Farris IIRC? Anyway, make sure you make the brewery barrel at the workbench and not the storage one at the carpenter's bench. (note, you will need fertilizer to make it so build a compost bin and throw any hearts or offal you get in there to turn into fertilizer).

1. Go to the beach and collect all the sea urchins you can find. Also pick up any other fruit you see as well. This is also a decent spot for you companion to whack things early on and get better at fighting.

2. Go back to base and use your wood saw to cut the sea urchins into bonito flakes.

3. Put the bonito flakes in the brewery barrel for a day until they turn into bonito wine along with any other fruit you picked up. Alternatively, if you have a sickle use it to collect seeds instead of fruit to start growing your own. You'll need 24 for a full farm plot for autofarming.

4. Profit. No, seriously, I can get around 100 bonito wine per run which will net me over 3000 orens. I'm two years in now and I can pretty easily pay my taxes just doing this one or twice a month(my taxes at this point are just a bit over 3k).

You can't make anything but basic stuff? Yeesh. That'd be fine for making a boomerang out of better material but it doesn't sound worth the investment at the moment. Hopefully we'll be able to do more as the game development progresses.

Don't need to worry about wine. I can bunch a ton of cash and a whole mess of platinum coins by doing the party quests pretty quick.

Yeah, this is still early access. I don't really mind as it appeals to the lootgoblin in me and you can find some nifty stuff. I've broken out of the basic stone/grass/paper tier of equipment and into proper metal equipment dropping in the dungeons.

Also, I apparently need to keep a better eye on my companions instead of keeping an open box of weapons or they do stupid stuff like give their claymore to somebody else. Anyway, this is what my little girl companion is currently using after I relocated it.

The sustain modifier basically means she can't be debuffed in those stats and that weapon covers basically every single one that are important for her.

Damn, that's nice. I've just got whatever random garbage I've bought.

I've only played 3 and a half hours, but so far it honestly is disappointing. Either I've gotten insanely unlucky or they have removed the charm system which makes me sad. The gameplay feels clunky and finicky and there are only 4 masteries to do. I'd say you should skip it for now, there are other better ARPGS out there. Hell, Titan Quest 1 is better than it. I'm honestly not sure what to say that is positive about it, maybe that you now get passive and active skill points when you level so you don't have to choose. I suppose the runes or whatever they call it you can slot in on skills at specific levels every now and then is cool too.

I dropped the first Darksiders because every enemy was a damage sponge.
I remember DS1 distinctly because it was the game where I paused during a fight with a flying boss where I'd just dodged attacks on top of the building for ten minutes and thrown my axe at it because I was sure I was missing the way to actually progress the fight and basically just cheesing it.

Nope, you just do a pixel at a time.
