I'm liking the new fic! I liked the old one too but this is smoother, still silly while not being as purely cracky, and you clearly have a better handle on the characters from the start rather than feeling them out a bit.

If anyone in the series would dab it'd be Camie, who is canonically a turbo hipster that speaks entirely in modern brainrot slang that's probably about two centuries out of date in-universe. God why did I just have to remember she exists, she'd be so funny to write. I swear Horikoshi is obsessed with making one-off glup shittos way more fun to write than the actual cast of 1A, which consists of all stars like Ojiro, Sero, and Sato.

I honestly feel like if I ever committed to an MHA fic (My first attempt died in the cradle), I'd be tossing out like half of 1A for some of the side characters, lmao.

How old is this kid again? Because I'm not aware of anyone who uses this style of totally hip and radical with today's youth through tik tok slang, but still knows about Matilda.

14 going into 15. Matilda actually did pop back into the public consciousness at the absolute beginning of 2023 for a very short period of time because it got an absolutely dogshit musical remake and both versions were free on Netflix, and Toji has a reason to know about orphan related content. This is probably one of those cases where I the author just can't think of any recent pop culture examples of "miserable orphan that gets the best life ever at the end" in recent media so I just used what I knew. Usually orphan MCs are just orphans so they can get abused even harder, not so they can live happy.
