You know what, I feel for Louise. She just has no luck. At all. The World and Destiny insist on trying to make her miserable.

Maybe he DID tell the headmaster and his response was to take this opportunity to get rid of Louis anyways. Binding yourself as a familiar is barely squeaking by on a loophole that pretty much anyone in charge can turn down if they feel like it. Louis causes alot of damage and the only real upside to keeping her around is keeping Karin from being pissed off.

As far as the second goes, it's time to play the 'guess how many fucks the on-duty healer gives about passing messages for a student who is about to be an ex-student' game.

You try a piercing stare, but it seems to come off more as desperate pleading than anything else.

"Oho... I would be more inclined to believe that if you had managed to summon-"

You set the Headmaster's drapes on fire with a slash of your wand. Then wobble a bit.

"-... I see." he says, becoming much more somber. Then he reaches over to brush at your upper lip, and draws his hand away to thoughtfully rub at the blood. "Alarming. Well, this is more unfortunate. The fact of the matter remains, however, that even if you can now cast magic roughly as expected of a young woman half your age, while doing yourself injury... the documents have already been prepared and filed, with duplicates sent to the capitol."

He shrugs, and scribbles out something on a slip of paper.

"The messenger has probably already reached the palace by now." He notes. "But if he hasn't, and you manage to get those papers back here before they can be confirmed, then I see no reason not to pretend that I never signed them."

It's his fault to begin with!

"Really, this whole mess could have been avoided if you had managed to make your break-through just a day or two earlier." Osmond hums.

He's not allowed to pin the guilt on you! Would it have killed him to wait to file papers until after he'd spoken with you?

"Or, really, if you'd managed not to get yourself put in the healer's care when I'm informed that you knew I would be calling upon you." He says, reprovingly.

...

"Really, I would have thought you would be making far more haste about this." Osmond notes, waving the slip of paper.

You snatch it and rush out of the room. The secretary nods at you as you pass, making her own way back in.

You're several halls down before you realize that you have no idea how to track down a messenger or anything.

And so, Louise begins her first Quest.

I kind of feel that Louise should give up on this, to be honest. At the rate this is going, she'll end up pushing herself to death.

 

The sad thing is...she probably sees death as a better alternative at this point, considering she was crazy enough to brand herself as her familiar. Maybe.

You can barely think as you run through the halls.

The time is... and so, that class, and the students.... but where....?

You find her approaching a small gazebo, book crooked in one arm, and clasp both of your hands on her shoulders. Desperation is clear in your voice.

"Tabitha! I need you!" You explain, simply, panting for breath from the running.

She blinks.

And you realize that the end of her staff is pressing into your stomach, just a moment before the world goes end over end, spinning from the dull force of a contained gust lifting you up off the ground.

You twist your wand and levitate yourself into place, before dropping back to your.... knees, okay, your feet didn't quite work there.

You take a moment to cough up just a little bit of blood, but that's fine, just a few drops isn't a big deal at all.

Tabitha could be carved from a frozen stone, as she looks down at you.
