Anyone else reading this masterpiece?

For any fans that love to change the past via future meta knowledge.

The MC does what she can to survvie, but manages to better the lives of everyone.

And for a Japanese manga that doesn't revolve around harems, this manga is very sensible and the MC is quite quirky, lovable, and all round awesome character.

 

I am, though the updates are super slow recently.

There's some early installment weirdness (specifically how *goddamn lucky* she is that certain individuals decide to trust her in the first place), but most of the rest is adequately explained in the manga *eventually* (even if it took until a volume three or four written sidestory to actually explain them).

The MC also takes a more daring approach to attempting to change history than the other "modern character ends up encountering Nobunaga on the road and enters his service" manga I've read (Nobunaga no Chef, which I need to catch up on as I haven't read any of that in a year or two). Shizuko goes all in with "I don't want to die, which means I need to help Nobunaga win the war." The NnC main character is much more circumspect, only facilitating communication (through food), and really dithering sometimes on whether to do anything to change the situation last I saw.

 

Yeah, when I realized she decided to go all in with changing history for Nobu to succeed, I was really surprised. Not many comics or stories do this.

Still, I can't wait for Nobunaga to meet a black slave, and hopefully MC tries to free him and make Nobunaga keep him as a samurai instead of sending him back as a slave.

Nobunaga chef hasn't had any translated done for a long time, unfortunately. Only translated half of the 250 chapters.

49 chapters,if i remember correctly.Good story,and she get 2 other helpers from her times/well,one was samurai who was send to modern Japan and then again to his times/
I like fact,that she change something which she could change with her knowledge - crossbows and better black powder,but not rifles,becouse she do not knew how to made them.

Time travel stories are one of my favourites and this one got me interested due to the fact that it got the same story idea as Nobunaga no Chef, one of my favourites!

Good thing - MC have knowledge,but she is not genius,or karatekid.
So,she is achieved much by hard work.
And,as far as i knew,that kind of changes could actually happen in those times.
I hope,that she would succed and Nobunaga would live another 30 years.Tokugawas really fucked Japan,it would be nice to avoid that.

 

Half the manga in chef is untranslated. Man, I'm trying to find one, but no luck.

Look at the bright side! At least we got to read and enjoy it, right?

 

1.well,we could try to guess what is going on with pictures.
2.Empress MC ? why? she is not ruling anything,but helping by hard work and mundane knowledge.In some worst manga she would be arleady mass producing rifles for Nobunaga,but here all she manage to achieve was crossbows and better gunpowder.And i like it that way.

 

It would be nice if Nobunaga gets a hold of gatling guns!

It's sad that the whole thing gets update a bit irregularly after seeing the upload dates of the chapters. Each of them are too far apart! I guess I have to wait for another year or two if I am to read more...

 

Indeed.And if MC was genius engineer who also knew how to built 19th stuff,she would arleady made cyvil war guns,rifles and gatlings.It was possible in few years with technology from 1565 Japan.
For genius engineer with full Obunaga support,and she get that.
But - it it more fun that way.Thanks to that,story is more interesting,and MC could still lost.
It is manga after all,not Disney,so bad end is always possible.

 

So far, it's definitely my favorite Uplift Fantasy story, if only because she's got the background to explain where she's getting this all from - even if it's improbable how much she's able to do - and she's introducing new developments at a reasonable timescale. If this was on SB, she'd probably be driving tanks down Kyoto year one.

I once watched anime in which Nobunaga and others used mechs.Unfortunatelly,forget tittle.Besides,since everybody there have mechs,it changed nothing.

She can't just apply her modern sensibilities and values to everything especially in a tumultuous time as the warring states era of japan's sengoku period.
