    I just read Dragon My Feet and wanted to tell you I really enjoyed it!

    Mac is a sweetheart, Summer is a horny little cinnamon roll, and the world building and AU elements are very intriguing. I'm excited for when/if they finally return to civilization so I can learn more about the world and see how they interact with a wider cast.

    It's clearly intended to copy superpowers but it says 'abilites'. Some of the 5 to 10 companions (officially) don't have superpowers but they do have improbably high skills in one area or another. Could I Copy Cat Cassanda Cain (10) as a discount Martial Adept (20) alternative?

    Sort of. Yes, you can get Cassandra Cain's combat skills with Copy Cat. But I would say that she probably not quite at Martial Adept's level. Further, her skills are entirely geared for a peak human's physicality. So if you've got like spellcasting or superhuman stats or other superpowers you won't be seamlessly incorporating them into your fighting style like MA does.

    Random question but I'm working on a build for the eye co economy CYOA and I was wondering if you know what shotgun is shown in the shotgun option? Or even what game it's from? I figured wolfenstein because of the assault rifle from there but then I couldn't find it on any wolfenstein images.

    @Gforce1000, Looking at two versions of Gwen Stacy (powered and unpowered) being in the same catalogue got me thinking. If you're willing to 'settle' for a non-powered version of a character as a companion could you get them at lower price? Like, if you specified you wanted a specific character before they got empowered or after they got depowered in the story?

    I could see that sort of homebrew working, knocking a character down to like 10 or 5 because they don't have the superpowers you want from them. Maybe even 1 if it's someone who doesn't have much going for them beyond their powers.

Nolan himself says there's only about 50 pure blood vilrumites left (in addition to some unknown number of hybrids like Mark) but less than a dozen of them are Named Characters. Is it safe to say that Named Character Vilrumites survived... Scrouge Mk2?

    @Gforce1000 Sorry to bother you if this was answered earlier, but regarding your CYOA. Does it work similarly to a series of jumpchain documents, in that every time you visit a new world within the CYOA, you get that world's budget to spend on new perks, companions, and so on? I couldn't seem to find anything regarding that in the document itself.

    Nope. Some of the stuff you can buy might grow larger/stronger over time like the number of Companions and so on, but once you've finished the document you no longer interact with it. Unless you fail a Quest you took, at which point you lose stuff.

    Yep, totally valid. Doesn't matter how a person comes into being, just that they are a person. Similarly, while Maidroids aren't people to start with if you did something to turn them into people with aftermarket modifications they could become Companions.

    Hey Gforce1000, A question re: World selection and budget.
    There's quite a few Companions to pick from and while most of them hail from the available settings not all of them do (like Elsa or Esmeralda or Max, etc.) Is there any way to insert into settings not listed in the doc? Maybe by using Companions to aim for that setting or something?
    If there is how do I determine the starting budget?

    At one point I intended to do a big expansion to make sure every world had companions and every companions a world, but I never got around to it and at this point it's more likely I'd do a full new version if I came back to the concept.

    I don't have a hard method for determining budget or a go to any world option (iirc, there may have been one in the alt rules I am forgetting), but by considering the setting's scale, the outlook of the people in it, how likely you are to be in actual danger, and so on you can probably sus out roughly where it'd stand next to the existing ones.

    If you're really not sure, it's a fairly high power cyoa so go for 100 or 125 and you'll be able to work something out in most places.

    Read your CYOA. Situational perks seem to be scaled against the "World," but the "World" seems to be the galaxy in some settings. So take Noblesse Oblige twice and you run a Sector in SW or 40k - hundreds or thousands of worlds, and taking Seed Money even once probably means you own a planet.

    Or was that only meant to scale against your starting planet?

    Also yeah, you can make multiple networks if you want. As for upgrading... should be able to, yeah. Flipping people between companion sets should be an option, and having one companion under multiple different networks should as well.

    Hey Gforce1000, Native perk says it can also be used to 'take the place of an existing character and gain their full memories'.
    Is this... possession? Can it be anyone from a single scene NPC equivalent to BBEG? Also, if I'm taking place of a character with a family do I need to take Oh Yeah, Him perk as well?

    As for who you can replace, it depends on what other perks you have: if you're inserting as someone rich you need to take Seed Money, if you're inserting as a powerful wizard you need to take Local Power at least once or twice, if you're inserting as a prince you need Noblesse Oblige, stuff like that. As long as you have enough of those perks to match the person you're replacing, it can be anyone in the story.

    Who decides whether the 'transformative effect' is 'unwanted'? You or your Companion?

Harry Potter for example do you have a vast knowledge of Potterverse magic from the moment of insertion or are you 'merely' once in millenium talent that still needs to actually crack open a book or at least witness a spell being cast before being able to do it yourself?

    I don't think you'd have much of a library, but you'd have the raw talent to figure it out without books or watching spells as well. Consider Tom Riddle, who was able to figure out several fairly strong bits of magic as a child without even knowing what might be possible. You would be better.
