    If you're at all curious about what exactly has been strangling my muse lately, the fic responsible is "Ignis et Furor" over on Spacebattles, a Worm fic with a very mild MLP cross in terms of altpower. To say the least... it definitely has that "trainwreck you can't look away from" energy, and my own comment in the thread kinda explains what's inspiring me to write something involving it.
