Questionable Questing

Grosstoad
Grosstoad
Main character is a young archeological enthusiast, who was visiting an archeological dig with a friend... Only to get sent back in time... Or did he?
Grosstoad
Grosstoad
Now a young orphaned boy in a semi-primitive tribe, he is forced to use his wits and skills to survive and thrive in a savage mystical land and mystical barbarian culture. There is also a bit about the wolf he is saddled with, but Caesar isn't helping much yet, since he is but a pup, despite his size.
Grosstoad
Grosstoad
Setting-wise, there's very little mention of other possible cultures aside from the tribe he is with, but a find in the orphan cave seems to hint at things unknown. On the other hand, the beasts -and later plants- in this setting is dangerous and powerful.

To take care of this, the Flaming Horn tribe has the protection of the Flaming Horn Totem, who gives Totem blessings to make Totem warriors, who are basically the superhuman needed to handle the megafaunas and megafloras of the world.

Plot-wise, it is also repeatedly hinted that the MC is possibly a throwback to the esteemed ancestral roots of the Tribe, who have better control of the Blessings the Totem might grant, and thus might be able to raise the Tribe back up from the primitive squalor they are now in.

Interestingly, while there are hints of Xinxia in the forms of Totems and energies from ferocious beasts and plants, there's very little of the standard Xinxia cliches.

Still, main protagonist's Heavenly Blessing is still pretty much out in full force. Similarities to vomits blood meme can be found when others are watching at how fast the MC progresses with his Blessing.

Oh, to note, no harem yet, since the MC is about... Ten years old? And girl orphans are quickly adopted, while female warriors are rather scarce.

A pretty good read overall.

Main character is solemn and studious, in comparison to the more solid and down to earth characters of the tribal hunters and orphans, who have to fight for their daily survival.
Grosstoad
Grosstoad
The things that help him:
- Studious and cunning character
- Totem Blessing: Superhuman package
- Totem Special Blessing: minor foresight and hindsight
- Totem Special Blessing: faster Superhuman package growth
- Stonecrafting skills (a special benefit because he is able to apply his Blessings here)
- Trapmaking skills (a special benefit because totem warriors are disregarding the skills)
