It's incredibly frustrating when this happens; if all writers listened to the Hatter's, 90% of my favorite fanfics would never be completed.
This guy knows how to write well, and his story was fun, but he made the mistake of starting an argument with haters who wanted attention.

ClarencelackClarity suffered much worse and didn't give up on her fic. Imagine if she had listened to the haters and stopped writing Poorly Tempered Impulse Control.
In the end, no matter what you write, there will always be someone who will say that your story is crap and that you should give up, no matter how good the fic is.
