  • The fic keeps trying to present him as noble, restrained, and responsible, but the actual effect is the opposite: he comes across as politically weak, strategically incoherent, and unwilling to take ownership of the power, knowledge, and leverage he already has.
    This story(Jon snow SI) is at its most frustrating not because the protagonist is "good," but because he consistently mistakes servility for virtue and inaction for morality.
    That's the real problem with your writing: your protagonists have power, but they never have the intelligence, pride, ruthlessness, or sheer self-respect to use it in a way that feels real. They're not admirable. They're not compelling. They're just embarrassing.
    Who the fuck is going to tell a dragonrider what to do? And yet somehow this useless moron still acts like a submissive little doormat waiting for other people to screw him over.
    And this Jon idiot? He doesn't even think like someone with a functioning brain. A dragon changes everything. Once he has a grown dragon, what the fuck is any council, election, or political faction realistically going to do to stop him? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
    It's unbearable. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been this pissed off at a protagonist, and yours absolutely earned it.

Because instead of using that talent to write powerful, memorable protagonists, you waste it on weak, floppy, servile nonentities who have all the power in the world and still act like frightened little bitches begging for permission to exist.
    I'm supposed to believe I'm reading Westeros, Harry Potter, or some other brutal setting, but instead it feels like fucking suburban America dressed up in fantasy clothes. It's fake. It's cowardly. It completely destroys immersion.

Every setting you touch gets turned into this watered-down, sanitized, politically correct parody of itself, where everyone magically has modern values, equal rights, and soft moral standards no matter how little sense that makes. It's completely disingenuous.
    It's pathetic. Your protagonists don't feel noble, wise, or morally superior — they feel castrated. They feel like they were built in a lab to offend absolutely nobody, even if it means stripping them of all dignity, backbone, and self-respect.
    Reading your stories is fucking infuriating

    because they're all the exact same predictable garbage. It's always: 'Oh wow, I have overwhelming power, but instead of acting like an actual man with pride, will, or conviction, I'll just kneel, whine, compromise, and think in the safest, most politically correct way possible.'
    I don't even usually use words like that, but your characters are so pathetically gutless that they make the most stereotypical beta-male Japanese protagonists look like hardened warlords by comparison.

    Just started reading Runemaster and wanted to point out something: runes in Futhark are just letters, they don't have meaning by themselves. Like letter M just means letter M. In Nordic mythology you must write(well, carve) actual words and sentences for runes to mean or do anything. It's just a fic, so whatever, but this is my favourite mythology and the more people know about it, the happier I am)

    Sometimes it doesn't work because you need to authorise its use. If you can't get to work, you can just use a random number generator. Each category can be given a different number, and each category keeps track of how many entries are in it.
    Do you have any plans to move over mutant gothic and continue with it

    You know. I miss your Sheogorath story. I mean I love Runemaster, Rogue Trader, and Paint It Black. They are some of my favorite fanfics on this site. But the Sheogoroath SI just felt like it had a lot of potential. Is there a chance in hell it will ever come back? Even as a rewrite?
