Questionable Questing

DON'T FUCK IT UP DON'T FUCK IT UP DON'T FUCK IT UP DON'T FUCK IT UPDON'T FUCK IT UP—

Although honestly, not surprised. They've done a good job so far with American Gods, Good Omens is only natural to follow up.

American Gods isn't Amazon though, it's Starz. And look at what Fox did to Lucifer.
MadKeyboard
MadKeyboard
Lucifer may not be a faithful adatation, but it's passable (Note my wording; I'm not saying good, I'm not saying bad, I'm saying 'eh') as a thing on it's own (if fucking cheap at times; "LOOK, HE'S AN ANGEL! YOU CAN TELL, BECAUSE THERE'S A GOLD GLOW COMING FROM OFF SCREEN!").

Death Note, Castlevania, ... wait, so you're telling me you'd be fine with a Good Omens buddy cop series?

>Citing the Castlevania adaptation as bad

D.Fish, stop being wrong! :V But no, I would not be content with that, but I hardly see how adaptations by different companies has anything to do with a Good Omens adaptation, by American companies nonetheless, especially ass this is being produced by the BBC and written personally by Gaimen.

Castlevania was bad though. It had mediocre animation, story dragged and cliched, and the only selling point was supposed to be its action, which it failed at due to using old animation techniques.

Okay, how about book adaption that had author participation? Dark Tower.
MadKeyboard
MadKeyboard
Dark Tower was made by a damn committee, and Stephen King is barely even a writer anymore, and was working on a story he hasn't seriously commited to in decades (No, the recent "Everybody sits down and has a talk" novella he made doesn't count, that's barely a story), as opposed to a guy who worked on this story not EVEN a decade ago with one of his best friends (sadly deceased) trying to give to a TV Adaptation.

Fish, I know a LOT of adaptations have been bad, and I can understand caution, really, I do and do have it. But please, until at least a showrunner has been announced or anything besides "It'll happen", at least give the benefit of a doubt. Because you're looking to just find a reason to hate this and not giving it any chance before anything is even set.

d.fish
There's no need to be defensive. You need to accept the chance of failure for a chance of auccess. It's not like American God was so highly rated either, 'it gets better next season/episode' is not something that normal people accept as a reason for watching. Cast off fan biases.

I ain't 'hating', I'm just saying the realities of the matter. Buying into the fandom and the hype of an adaption is no different than how buying into fandom and hype is for anything else.
