    Working the lower back and side muscles helps built abs more than doing actual crunches. Since those muscles are what the abs would rely on to actually do anything.

    I don't think I'll be during sit-ups or crunches. Those exercises risk injuring back muscles. I think I'll stick to a 2-minute plank, side planks, and mountain climbers for the core and lower back.

    Those are all excellent. Back stretches also work really well, especially since most of them also require that you use your back muscles quite a bit in order to maintain form.

    Back stretches look useful. My dad's got lower back pain, so they're perfect for him. He can't do push ups or mountain climbers because he's old and not so limber anymore...
