How about a gamer!Overlord story where the protag isn't the overlord? I can't remember ever reading a story where the protag is an imp. Or maybe even a lesser hero. One of those we never heard about because he got killed early? Heck, take a tavern wench and have her work her way through UNLIMITED POWAAA!

Honestly, I kinda want to see an Overlord Game and Overlord anime crossover, though I'm not sure what that would look like.

If you want something that fits it perfectly: Elder Srolls, or Dragon Age would be ideal candidates(great characters available in both aswell). Lord of the Rings could work too, but I'd say it has less amusing characters(perfectly synchronized tho).

If we're going for something a tad more creative, and unique(but not necessarily game breaking). Then something like Harry Potter, Warcraft or even Pokemon/One Piece.
