For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.

A more futuristic world would be cool. Good idea. I've been toying with the idea of maybe starting one with a bit of a focus. Planetary exploration perhaps, or something like that. Thoughts?
It can be both, instead of ftl/faster then light travel. There is Ftt/Faster then thought technology. people transfer their minds into artificial bodies and robots that explore/colonization and wage war... but the tech was mishandled
An interesting idea, opens up some nice possibilities. Maybe we can tag quotes to designate them to specific planets or something. I'll think about it.
One way for the tech to be mishandled is that a mod on the ftt can cause effects similar to being high as a kite and other illicit activities that fit the cyber noir aesthetic of cyberpunk.
Another aspect was that game developers could instinctively create games by using their own mind and memory as a os system and save it as a memory that is pay to download. This discovery in the ftt would later on create thousands gambling programs that would be more addictive then cocaine
