    Farming, population increases due to farming, and increased burning to keep people warm during winter is why the expected ice age didn't hit as expected (the burning of fossil fuels then pushed that into overdrive, with the release of methane by thawing tundras and certain companies adding even more fuel to that fire).

    That said, with the ocean currents about to stall/stop, we're likely going to see a lot of Europe, Canada, Russia, and Asia freeze outright while most of the equater becomes almost completely inhospital. "Fun".

    There's no "expected ice age" to hit at all, let alone softer or harder, for at least the next few hundred years.

    Even if humans didn't exist, the planet would still be warming, and if past cycles are any indication (they're really not- four cycles does not a reliable predictor make even without monkeys playing God), it should remain that way for at least another three to four hundred years.
