Originally, I thought the commonality between Alchemy/Enchanting and the sixth magic would be Manipulation of Energy within Materials. Thus, Alchemy and Enchanting alter the flow of the magic within whatever to provoke an effect, and the opposite/counterpart would be Anti-Magic, REMOVING the magic from an object (or perhaps a spell at higher levels, giving a Counterspell option).

This would provide interesting ingredients for alchemy, because the magic will seep back in to the ingredients naturally, but may not be the same theme/flavoring/type of magic as was originally there.

This idea was strengthened by your response to Thriceboiled, meaning the accurate explanation would be "Anti- magic takes a Single magical component and separates it into parts".

However, you, or perhaps the group given how I went by word-of-god posts and backtracking, seem to be pushing the "conceptual" angle. Anti-magic would likely be an effect of the "Void" combination between Necromancy and the sixth magic.

Other sixth magic combinations are Summoning, Illusions, and Anti-Elements. So where Alchemy is mostly working with potions but having Enchanting as a sub-branch, and works by modifying materials to cause magic to flow in a certain way, the sixth magic would probably be altering the magic to cause a certain reaction in the substance?

So, the primary use would be Conjuration, and you could get "interesting" ingredients because you are then creating custom reagents. Void would be combining the "decay" or "entropy" aspect of Necromancy into decaying the patterns of magic, while Summoning would be almost conjuring from a life-energy pattern.

Anti-elements would just be conjuring the magical/metaphysical opposite of the element (or swapping the existing element into it), and manipulating it with normal Elemental Magic. Illusions would be basically more complex workings of the already-present Pure Magic spells, such as Light and Sound, probably Smell, Taste, and Touch as well at steadily increasing difficulty.

TL;DR: The Sixth Magic is altering the Magic to provoke a response in the Material World, opposing Alchemy which is altering the Material World to provoke a Magical response.
