I dunno, with all the trippy religious symbolism in Tron, I went crazy a couple years back building a framework for 'how it works'.

The basis of my idea was that the soul is an actual factual thing in Tron, and when humans get scanned into the computers, they're technically only detailed CAD files, with no ability to interact with anything in the world.
