I have been meaning to ask what is the difference between hard and soft stars, I have them listed as, soft stars being about how something is viewed, and hard stars being about the nature of something?

Essentially yes. Soft Stars are more malleable and non concrete things, opinions emotions, temporary things that are liable to change, while Hard stars are stable and don't change easy
