After dealing with the community and doing a rewrite I lost interest in continuing it. The quest was the largest headache I've ever had to deal with in writing in terms of reader interest and the amount of pedantry going on. I was dreading having to write it from chapter to chapter, especially when I felt like some people were chasing the voters away.

I felt a lot of it from you to be honest, and with the fact that it was a mod doing it I felt it was scaring readers away. To be honest I was scared of updating the story after a while. As I felt like every chapter got a negative reaction of some sort.

Maybe, maybe not. But I was dreaded whenever you posted as it always felt like you pointing out a fuckup or insulting me for something. And I felt like it drove away readers as well, I tried to do a reboot as a regular story, but after taking the time to do a full rewrite the forum didn't seem interested. And now I'm just exhausted of looking at the story after all the work and research that I had to put into it.

As for reader interest, I'll be honest: You tried to do a hard quest. Questers in general are kinda risk-averse on standard, especially risks related to 'waifus'. People will generally gladly jump in on easy votes, but are less likely to commit on hard votes. It's not that they don,t like the story, but they fear picking wrong.
