Questionable Questing

Nice! Raspberries are the bomb, do you have a field of them or something?

A few rows of them. We also have blackberries, strawberries, three apple tree, carrots, peas, beans, peppers (in the greenhouse), lettuce, and some spices.

That's *awesome.*

The closest we ever got to that was letting the blackberries in the backyard run wild, and picking them when they grew. It was so low effort, though, that they overran the place like kudzu.

Used to be a part-time ranch, though we got rid of the sheep two years ago. Very large garden, though now that I'm the only kid left at the house, my mom is downsizing the butterfly garden, and only keeping the vegetable garden, the strips along the house, and the one separating the front and back yard.

Interesting! So does it require much maintenance?
CptTagon
CptTagon
Oh yes. Luckily, my mom enjoys it, so she does most of it, and I only have to do heavy labor and picking fruit.

Hmmm... heavy labor? Why am I so amused by the thought of tiny little Neo carrying big crates?

Oooooooh nice! Bet you guys have plenty of delicious raspberry jam/juice too :D
CptTagon
CptTagon
Strawberry, blackberry, and raspberry jam, all home made. And plenty of pies, cobblers, and smoothies as well.

I have store-bought jam maybe once every half decade. Only organic, and it still doesn't taste as good as what we make. And we're still working our way through half a cow and a pig a friend butchered two years ago. Bacon, steaks, ham, ribs...

A friend once gave us a cow... too bad that our power went out the week after and it thawed in the chest freezer :(

That sucks. Lot of good meat on one of those things.

did you sacrifice a teen idol like brittany spears so that the corn will be good too?
CptTagon
CptTagon
No, but that might make the corn actually grow. Thanks for the tip.
