Questionable Questing

Well in general I hope you are doing well, it shocked me a lot to see you explode after the Puppet comment giving you are a writer that has always dealt with harsh criticism head on proud to defend your ideas and values, honestly if you survived the tirades of fanfiction you can push forward through the dislike Shinobi RPG generates to some members of the community.

You are strong lad, keep uploading till the end!

Also Hisako's arc was the best still praising you for the overall execution, best among the old Shinobi RPG, DaisukeXHisako is still my ship to go for OCS on the naruto fanfiction community.

Biggest critic for me back on the day was Anko and the whole power trip for Daisuke on his romantic life, the lack of aim for disconnecting with Konoha and explore ally create your own political position on the world of the Elemental nations.

So.
In order.
The 'puppet comment' explosion (which I regrettably don't remember) was the result of tons and tons backlash, insults, bad-faith critique that piled up for years. In addition to the lack of reward (I was monetized at the time and it wasn't working), it was a recipe for a truly colossal burnout.

The burnout was so great that I've almost given up on the hobby of writing entirely.

Continuing on; Hisako was an extremely toxic person whose issues stem from her being abandoned by her parents who wanted to return to active duty ANBU. She was needy, possessive and utterly heedless of Daisuke's rejection. A relationship would've been horrible for Daisuke's mental and emotional health and on some level, he knew that. Hence why he told her to stay away.

Act 2 was meant to be a deconstruction of gamer SI's at their peak. Act 1 tore apart gamer SI's on their journey to maximum potential. Act 2, after using an in-universe exploit (he basically used the Impure World Resurrection on himself), achieved ultimate power.

Chakra is something that connects people, as the Samurai proved with their Ninshu art. What happens when a gamer becomes and infinite fountain of chakra? The whole world warps and twists around them. In essence, they become Black Hole Sues. It's why I made the creative decision to have the Shinigami and Jashin be the only active gods of the setting; it explains the setting in my opinion.

Next, Anko. Anko was the only person Daisuke sexually identified with and, well, I thought they had a connection. I did a piss poor job of exploring that connection, that I will grant you, but I thought they had one.

Finally, changing the world. Daisuke was trying to limit bloodshed. Creating his own political faction would've done the opposite. It would've exacerbated the tribalism and the cold war the villages were waging. Hence, his attempt to move to an apolitical movement by giving everyone in the elemental nations the gift of the internet.
