So there's a form of entertainment in China called "secret room escape" that teens play, and you can kind of guess from there
I recently read a very basic Pokemon-in-Real-World type story, 精灵：我能看见系统提示, and I found that it didn't make me hate how "Chinese" it was. In fact, it was rather good, at least the first hundred chapters. I encountered a Chinese web novel, where the protagonist says the words "hug your thighs" and some characters in other worlds didn't understand the meaning of this Chinese idiom. I am surprised and awed by the thought that went into this shitty story! -
