damn it I don't wanna read this anymore, it's not cheaty scummy enough for me, and too "arrogantly all-knowing", you know, in the sense that "all this happened before the story was told

like when Maine appears, author says MC was the one who pulled him into the solo biz, or MC knows Suzie when he goes to the Mox, etc
