Thanks a lot guys, I do appreciate it a ton. SB Mods, aside from a few, are the absolute worst, and aren't above making your life difficult. So I don't blame you for not getting up in arms. I was just surprised to see that they even brought it up when it was supposedly handled so long ago. Super strange.

@skychan And they had to lock the thread FAST because then they would see the consequences of their actions. See all of the people who aren't happy about a Mod bringing up yesterday's news (8 months) and making a deal about it, and getting an author to quit their site. That's bad for business. Can't let people complain about Mod overreach lest people get ideas.

Though I won't say that I'm in remotely the same league as someone like Seras so losing me on SB as an author isn't as much of a blow to them. If Seras isn't safe from overbearing mods who put huge restrictions on her poppin' threads but give other stories free passes then no one is. It's a shitty situation but it is one SB reopened for no reason.

PF, you have my sympathy, unfortunate some of the people at SB are on a power trip.

And they exercise their power without rhyme or reason, as I found out by making a comment on a current events page about Ukraine War with Russia.

Unpopular military topics are political and can only be voiced on the political page, not under the military topics.

@PsylentFox you just got a temporary ban from SB. Seriously that mess up.

@PeaceMaker03 & @Eternal Lord They came at me with a game plan- be as abrasive as possible, get me pissed. They got me, because who reports a comment for a dead thread? Someone with an ax to grind. They couldn't ding the content, so they dinged me on an explanation of the content, and that pissed me off because everyone with a brain knows that this was a non-issue.

I fucked up by getting angry and not treating it for the non-issue it was. Just another glaring example of the two-tier enforcement system on SB got to me. It wouldn't have been reported if my story contained the proper signals to virtue. But it didn't, and thus an 8-month infraction post-facto when 3+ other Mods reading the story didn't have any problems with it. And pointing it out only made it worse.

I'm sad that someone felt the need to get offended and report an explanatory post. I'm sad that a Mod used this chance to make herself feel better. I'm sad that I didn't keep a cool head and just handle it. Though I'm not sad that I spoke the truth. Not that it matters- didn't succeed in doing anything, but hey, my conscious is clear.

@PsylentFox maybe the mod is the guy who made a tiktok about your thread. Now that I think about it it was the exact same topic as the reason why you're getting ding.

The best thing about all of this has been the outpouring of support in my DMs and stuff from everyone- it's funny, for all the SB Mods try to claim they're 'above it all', there seems to be a lot people who realize that they're really not. It just makes me feel bad that my muse is so fickle because I can't give everyone a gift in a new chapter unless I'm in the zone for it.

At least they no longer have any power over you. Which, considering how petty Spacebattles staff are, is going to eat at them for a very long time after the initial high of forcing you off of their platform wears off. Just look at The Sietch; we're still pissing them off years later, simply by continuing to exist.
