The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
It's a known bug, that's been happening for a couple months now. It appears to concern specific userhandles (a great many of them at this point), with little rhyme or reason otherwise.
*tests* That is peculiar to the Xenforo Default Style, which is the only skin that even uses those arrows to begin with. All other skins have a tappable ellipse between the first and (current and) last page numbers, at the top and bottom of the page. Pick literally any style except that one...
'Logo', right.
Scribble Hub could get away with that because their forum is an extension of the main site which was built around the same time, and because they haven't screwed around with the Style too much beyond that. QQ was around for over a decade running XF1 with a fairly wide range of...
I'm pretty sure it's either intended or unavoidable. The Xenforo Default style is the style you can revert to when something in the back-end borks literally every other skin, and it's quite likely nigh-impossible to tinker with for that reason.
If you're looking at Preferences, there's no specific preference re. Threadmarks.
If you're looking at New Threadmarks under Forums on the navbar, play around some with the filters and make sure you're Watching the threads in question.
*checks* It's only visible on mobile phone, and only in Portrait mode. Tapping it will take you to 'What's New' (same as on the navbar). You can basically get the same functionality by tapping the three horizontal bars at the left end of the navbar and selecting what you want from 'What's New'...
No, we're referring to a different phenomenon entirely. Specifically: with XF1, Alerts used to disappear from the bell dropdown list (not the Show All Alerts page, they obviously remained there) a few hours after being read. With XF2, the bell dropdown list now scrolls down the last 25 alerts...
Yeah, Alerts no longer time out. That's XF2-wide afaik. 'Unread' alerts merely stay at the top of the drop-down list until read (or 26+ of them accrue, then older ones get pushed down).
...If you leave it for 10-15 seconds, does it still persist or does it self-correct?
It's just, I've seen...
The first time... I'm guessing it was meant to be an answer to those occasions where you don't get an Alert because you happen to leave the site just after an Alert would pop up, but don't see it because you didn't Refresh the page before doing so. I know I'd lost track of several threads that...
*tests*
Using the +Quote/Reply buttons at the bottom of the post, preserves both Abbreviation and Rubytext.
Selecting the text & +Quoting that, strips both as described.
Selecting the text & copy-pasting it, strips the Rubytext, but preserves the Abbreviation.
AKA, this looks like standard...
Link it to some text. For example.
For a bare link, [plain]https://old.reddit.com/r/hellsomememes/comments/1cqvoeu/snowman_afterlife/[plain]
Just tried that - doesn't seem to work in Preview.
That's not normal, no. It's also not something I've seen anyone else complain about in this thread, so...
Check in the Suggestions/Bugs forum for a thread with that specific complaint, and consider making such a thread if you don't find one - this bug might or might not be specific to you, and...
For best effect, maybe have it with a link to a thread in the Announcements section - "Welcome to Xenforo 2: Don't Panic" or something, where it goes through all the increased/changed functionality and how to use and/or deal with it.
Make no mistake, there are a lot of goodies bundled in with...
The first Threadmark (summary of complaints to that point, since updated a few times) still has most of the 'they changed it, now it sucks/I can't find it' complaints left off. But I added a how-to on Alerts & how to unbork them at the end. So...y'know, check the threadmarks.
And in your case...
...sorta. Typed in the 1st box, ignored the 2nd box generated by clicking in the first box, hitting 'Post comment' generated a 3rd box duplicate with the 1st box's text in it. Afterwards, all three boxes are still there but only the 3rd box's text has been cleared. [EDIT: Sorry for above, I was...
