Emergency notice: We are currently being invaded by zombies. See this thread for details.
Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

It's still impossible to search through PMs older than March 5. They're still there; they just don't show up in search results (I'm guessing the cache got wiped). I don't know how many/how large PMs the average user has, but I have a similar amount of PMs to posts; the...

Tagging you in case you didn't notice. Also, more information: it's not a rolling limit but a fixed one; I can still search for stuff back to March 5. I'm guessing something wiped the search cache of PMs then and it needs to be rebuilt.
He joined before that happened, hence how he managed to get it in originally. Presumably he just didn't need to get QQ emails other than password resets.
Three million? At 5 minutes a fuck, that's 28.5 years to fuck them all with no breaks for sleep or food. Way past the threshold of "unless you are a tentacle monster, you can't actually make use of a harem this big".
I suspect what happened is that he sent a password reset email, but it got filtered, and thus it wants the password from the reset email (once you've sent a password reset email it AIUI won't accept the old password any more).
Overriding his old account's email with the new account's email...
What the title says; as of a few minutes ago (dunno how long before then), the search function can't see anything in PMs older than 24 hours (as in, the individual message is older than 24 hours, not the whole Conversation). Posts older than 24 hours can be seen by searching.
By your definition or my definition or the US legal definition, sure, but not by the UK or Australian legal definitions (well, technically they call it "child sexual abuse material" or "child exploitation material" respectively, in even more flagrant defiance of logic). Your First Amendment is a...
Okay, yes, in that case I think the only way to get a non-Sue is to have literally only one character in the work, which is so hilariously rare as to be a reasonable omission (though I suppose pure "all just a dream" works technically qualify).
But creating a waifu-tulpa (as e.g. the main character of Chaos;Head does) does not make a character a Sue (just insane), and I'd argue that considering all targets of sufficiently-extreme yandere to be automatically Sues is also not really correct (I wouldn't consider Itoshiki Nozumu a Sue...
>-Do other characters lack priorities unrelated to the subject? (+3)
>--Exacerbating factor: Really? No unrelated priorities at all? None whatsoever? (YES. THIS IS A SUE. TEST OVER.)
I think the exacerbating factor here is overbroad. If there are multiple such characters, without an obvious...
Uh, yes? Copyright is literally "authors get a legal monopoly on distributing their work, in order to aid monetisation".
You and @joesmith1999 are basically having the same general problem: you're trying to apply the conventions and business models of a world used to copyright to a world...
I'm going to weigh in on this, because nobody so far has actually provided a constructive reply (i.e. a way this could work out without copyright).
1. Simple decentralised patronage.
You post the first chapter for free, and post a Kickstarter basically saying "I wrote a novel, here's the first...
Ooookay, fine, linguistic prescriptivism 101 it is.
Language is a tool that people use to communicate concepts. If people use words to mean different things, then concepts are not communicated accurately, causing unnecessary misunderstandings. In the limit where everyone's definitions were...
You are confusing "plagiarism" and "copyright infringement".
Plagiarism is part of what are called "moral rights". Plagiarism is passing someone else's words off as your own, which is considered to steal the real author's recognition. Plagiarism is not actually against the law; it is against...
I see these kinds of arguments everywhere these days and they make my skin crawl.
Free speech is the principle that if A wants to say/write something, and B wants to listen to/read it, C has no right to intervene. Disregarding that principle is censorship. Censorship is bad for several reasons...
