• The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
  • An addendum to Rule 3 regarding fan-translated works of things such as Web Novels has been made. Please see here for details.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

Yeah, it blew my mind when I consciously realized that the eye motion thing was what I was actually doing when I was preparing to draw a parabola! After reading the book, I've decided to try to improve my imaginary object permanence. It isn't really a thing I've tried before. I've currently got...

Notes and Further Reading Chapter 3. The Power of Thought In this chapter, the ability to "see" a circle in one's head is presented as a universal human capability, which isn't entirely correct. In 2015, a research team led by Adam Zeman at the University of Exeter described a rare condition...

That's an interesting approach! After working through your method (and noticing that with every extra point you add, you get one more edge for each preexisting point!) and figuring out the formula for E_{n+1} = E_n + n = \sum_{i=0}^n i = \frac{n(n+1)}{2} I've gotta admit, my method feels...

I'm in the chapter where Bessis rags on Kuhnman for promoting System 2 in opposition to System 1. I did the "Add the numbers 1+2+3+...+97+98+99+100" differently than the example. I basically decided that 1+99 and similar sums are equal to 100, and 100 is a nice number to work with. Then I...

@Subrosian Smithy Thanks for posting those quotes from Mathematica in @Savestate's thread! I started reading it tonight. I just read the bit about the Patience game and describing shapes to people who don't have any concept of them. It's bad! It's failing to account for the fact that block...

    Threadmark Filtering Bug

The threadmark filtering system is having false negative issues. @havefeith reported them here. Steps to reproduce: Go to the [NSFW] You wake up as... (General Self-Insert Thread) thread. Click on the threadmarks dropdown, then View All 645 Threadmarks. Paste "Jack of Olives - My Misty...

Worm Original CYOA powers are already shitting all over the normal rules about powers. They don't mindfuck you, they don't have shards, tinker powers can mass produce stuff... I see no reason why whatever ROB is giving you your PM powers cannot give you a massive download of information every...

You seem to be arguing that II is better than PM. The problem is that Power manipulation is entirely capable of creating or augmenting Tinker abilities. II is limited to creating them. Sure, both hit the god-tier really damn fast, especially when you specialize, but PM is flat out better.
