Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
I don't think OL was trying to put Bleez in an awkward position. It's just hard to tell the difference between "history" and "currently relevant politics" when dealing with an alien species and culture. I notice he even referred to it as a "history question". Like, on "The Rest is History"...
Paul's desire to reform people is probably one of the things Batman likes/appreciates about him the most. Despite their many differences, they agree on the desirability of trying to make these villains better and get them to do something useful.
I do feel like we've learned more about Smiley...
This seems very familiar….
Oh, I know why. Because we see this all the time, except Boss Smiley is in the role OL usually takes and OL is in the role of the supervillain OL is trying to talk around after using superior force to restrain him.
The attempts to murder co-conspirators are the thing making whoever was behind this look really bad. If not for that, they might have been able to play it off as, "Oh ho ho, I was just trying to let adults have some mind-altering magic of their own choosing, what's so bad?" But now OL has them...
This does feel like a very X-Men type story, where the series does have these issues where the characters are doing something mundane and talking philosophy about the nature of being human.
Probably a supervillain will crash the prom.
This is true, but at the same time the Justice League could have said "well that's going to happen and we'll just have to deal with it on a case by case basis as it does". There's also the "pinning everything on one failure point" with Brother Eye. There's certainly different decisions Batman...
It really seems like this is a conversation they would have had before the guy is literally waiting downstairs.
I'm calling it out, but I guess implausibly last minute conversations are kind of a dramatic convention.
Interesting Ultron fact. Originally he had no special origin other than...
If OL were to disable Aaron's implanted destructive device, not even remove it but just disable it, it's almost certain no one would notice. They might check the implant is still there, but chemically sampling the explosive material to make sure it hasn't been rendered inert... well that's just...
Surgical like a vasectomy maybe, but hormonal treatments likely not. It’s just another valid body state. A purple ray shouldn’t “heal” that any more than it “heals” being angry.
We actually saw that incident in this story. Or at least, OL briefly summarized it for us right after it happened. Him working with Superman was a whole arc, "Uncomplicated Good Deeds" or something like that.
Yes, but saying that wouldn't be diplomatically productive. This is the SI taking his usual pragmatic attitude that if Doom can be brought around by not arguing with him about Reed Richards, then they ought to not argue with him about Reed Richards.
Doom is like that famous meme panel of Spider-man with Sauron. "But I don't want to cure cancer. I want to turn people into dinosaurs."
It's not like Doom is unaware of how he could "help humanity". Sometimes he even helps the people of Latveria just to prove he knows how to help humanity...
Hmmm. That made me do some free associating, and I wonder if this is another move from the Sane Hatter and his little conspiracy. As a Gotham Rogue specialized in brains, he's probably at least passingly familiar with Smilex and its effects. Even if not using Smilex itself, perhaps he could...
You know, I think it's worth a reminder at this point.
PAUL THE SI: Huh, I wonder what Boss Smiley actually is?
Instantly gets catapulted into a weeks long adventure across multiple dimensions that distracts him and leaves him entirely focused on other matters.
It's like how he'd get...
So I didn't think of it yesterday, but how come the demon's orange light power can work when the SI's rings remain shut down? The reason they shut down was that the local reality bubble was changed so it doesn't work, right?
That must mean the demon is carrying a bubble of "power rings work...
I guess the Spectre was never going to stick around given Zoat's dislike for the character, but that felt a little prefunctory.
I don't know, it's always a little rough to see characters Zoat dislikes done dirty. Yeah, there's the side of the character who pointlessly rants at characters who...
You know, every discussion of the Spectre starts out with the Spectre experts saying that of course his power level can vary between "slightly powerful ghost" and "God".
But then if a fanfic ever dared use him in "sightly powerful ghost" mode, I get the feeling there would be endless...
