Emergency notice: We are currently being invaded by zombies. See this thread for details.
Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
What the title says; as of a few minutes ago (dunno how long before then), the search function can't see anything in PMs older than 24 hours (as in, the individual message is older than 24 hours, not the whole Conversation). Posts older than 24 hours can be seen by searching.
I got an alert a few minutes ago that a PM had been sent in the future - the conversation was listed in the dropdown menu as being last updated "In 3 minutes", which counted down to "In a moment". The alert vanished when I reloaded the page, and no PM actually arrived at the prophesied time...
It appears that QQ now supports TikTok embeds.
TikTok is known Chinese spyware and possibly a Great Cannon of China vector. I am greatly concerned that QQ is embedding active TikTok code on the site. I don't want to have to shut down JavaScript on QQ just to ensure I have zero contact with...
At least, that's what I think's happening. Search my posts for wordcount >1000 and Bad Hair Day (the longest post I've made on QQ by a fair way) won't show up; I think it's because it counts as "thread" rather than "post with X words".
On my user profile, it says I have 21 followers. But if you look at the list of them, only 20 appear. Apparently someone's following me with Sneak 100.
Or there's a bug somewhere, I guess. :V Maybe one of them had his account deleted in the inactive-account purge?

Is it considered bad form/punishable to, elsewhere on the Internet, quote a post from the hidden boards of QQ (in particular Rants)?
Does it change things if the poster isn't named?
(Somebody elsewhere on the Internet is saying that they haven't seen X argument raised; the most easily findable...
The member "Villian in glasses" [sic] seems to have been deleted at some point, as PMs with him/her now show up as by a "Guest" or "Unknown Member" and attempting to access his/her profile returns "The requested member could not be found".
I thought accounts were never deleted?
I've seen a couple of cases now of people making profile posts that get hit for NSFW on the basis of "non-members can see these".
Is there any particular reason that profile posts should be visible to non-members?

Someone (presumably a mod) added a reply banner. It's mealy-mouthed shit that's just depressing to read. Everywhere says that crap and it discourages people from speaking frankly and getting things off their chest...
When I search for a search term and get to page 10 of the results, "show older messages" doesn't come up.
I know it's not a problem on my end, because when I search by a username with no search string and get to page 10 of the results, "show older messages" DOES come up.
Note that QQ's search...
(Before anyone accuses me of reopening a closed thread - this is a different topic than Beetlegeuse was getting at, and I don't see any way this could be deemed political.)
The old description of Rants was "No civility required. All other rules are still in effect. Have thick skin or stay out."...
I got a warning, but I only found out about it because somebody liked the post and I checked it.
Kinda defeats the purpose of a warning if the warnee's attention isn't drawn to it.
Searching for a word ending in S will also return results for the word without the terminal S. There does not appear to be a way to force the search to only return results with the S.
While many words ending in S are plural and as such the two sets of results are similar in meaning, and many of...
Might I suggest just straight-up saying in the rule that it doesn't apply to stories? People being worried about stories getting dinged for Rule 8 has been a perennial issue, and TTBOMK there's been no actual problem with people doing what you fear.
The rules thread itself notes the lack of...
I seem to remember quotation marks working in search to search for an exact phrase, but at the moment they're simply being ignored when I search.
What's going on here?
EDIT: The plot thickens. It works for "genocide is just another game" (i.e. it gets the posts that have that sentence, but not...
I've noticed in the last couple of days that the rollover elements (tooltips?) such as the Alerts dropdown, the descriptions of forums, the subforum menus, and the page select seem to have stopped working. I either have to click on them or the options which would normally only come up on...
When I hear or see the word "doxxing", I think of either a) specific contact/identification details (name, address, phone number, photograph), or b) information gained through RL acquaintance with the person behind the pseudonym (for instance, responding to someone saying "I'm a teacher" with "I...
