  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.

    Well, I go by the "Could I make this joke/comment to my bus driver?" metric of determining cringe-ness. I guess maybe it's dumb to use that metric for an internet forum, but there's no shot I would make virginity and 'first-time' jokes to a stranger I've just met. Obviously the header's a joke...

    I think the header changing to "Your first time is always over so quickly, isn't it?" after the first approved post is cringe too and should be changed as well in my opinion. It just seems like the goal is to drive people away from the website rather than welcome them. Why not have it be...

    I fully agree with having select settings and actions be locked away until someone has made an approved post, but having the profile header for all new accounts be exceedingly cringe is simply off-putting for no reason. I feel like there has to have been some people who would have been lurkers...
