    Did Disney change this? in the old EU Thrawn didn't design the TIE Defender, it was Admiral Zaarin's project. And once Zaarin betrayed the Emperor, Thrawn was assigned to defeat him and he designed the Assault Gunboat ( basically a normal gunboat but with 50 missiles instead of the usual 8)
