The issue with logging in with email addresses has been resolved.
Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
Such cards do exist, because sometimes an officer does have to read them, but they are not routinely read at the point of arrest. The law is that a suspect must be properly advised of their rights before any custodial interrogation.
FYI: Reading someone their Miranda rights as they're being arrested is a Hollywoodism. In reality, it happens after they are arrested, usually immediately before interrogation.
In most versions of BBCode, including XF1, the [sub] and tags, besides shifting the text vertically, also make it smaller, but since the XF2 migration, that is no longer the case; the tagged text is exactly the same size as normal text. This breaks a number of long-standing standard uses for...

Edit: As you can see, it produces no result at all. Additionally, even if it did work, it would not solve the bug I am reporting: that auto-inserted URLs should be immune to smileys but are not.
If you're writing the URL manually, yes. But when you embed a video XF automatically inserts the link beneath it. You can't wrap the whole embedding in , because that would disable the embedding too.
This embedded video has the URL displayed automatically beneath it, but the video ID of the video has 'x3' in it, and this is being rendered as the x3 smiley.
This thread is for 'I once read a fic where X happens, and now I can't remember the name' and similar requests. If you're looking for recomendations for fics with a particular theme or trope, you should ask in the appropriate thread - I don't know what that is, offhand, but I'm sure there's a...
@alethiophile thought the problem could be fixed after the XF2 migration. We've been on XF2 for most of a year now. It's not unreasonable to expect an update.
Sure, if someone has an image and wants to upload it somewhere to share, they can just pick a host that isn't Imgur. But Imgur remains a...
The purpose of this thread is in fact for 'I read this fic once and now I can't remember the name' and similar queries. Requests such as @Harman's should be directed to other threads, which usually have 'rec' in the title.
