A Kantai Collection Question

Is "Blood Week" canon, or fanon?
Technically Kantai Collection has no canon, with the premise that the Admiral/Commander reporting in and deploying with their starter ships. No references are made to the wider world at all, not even any mention of the current year. For all you know it is still 194X in an alternate Earth.

"Blood Week" is common fanon for the initial Abyssal blitzkrieg that reduces the world into a worldwide Arpeggio-esque siege, having mundane navies get jumped on by OCP monster machines that are explicit hard counters to advanced warfare paradigms. Hence entire fleets get crushed and shore cities bombarded, with the initial wave of Installation-class Abyssals (e.g. Henderson Airfield, Midway, Guadalcanal, etc) conquering landmarks as beachheads.

Some fics have it a Week before the first shipgirls appear, some Month or Year. Up to your choice.

ADD: IN sum, Kantai Collection (the game) has no lore at all, everything is up to the players to decide.

It is a TCG/CCG at its base after all.
