  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.

Alert broken on my new Macbook Air

I used to be able to use reminders to tell me when it's time to go to class. Notification Center means alerts don't pop up on my screen unless I specifically click on it and it takes up too much of my screen to have to constantly open. I have Do Not Disturb mode disabled. Is there a way to have an alert pop up on my screen like it did on my old computer? I appreciate any and all feedback!
 
It might be that you have the reminder notifications set up as an alert instead of a banner. Alerts unlike banners vanish after a few seconds. Go to system preferences -> Notifications
