Alerts no longer available direct from top bar on mobile

So when I don't have a new alert the top bar looks like normal:

But when I have a new (unread) alert it changes to this:

And then I have to open the menu and go to the Alerts page to view my alert; it can't be accessed directly from the bar any more.

Needless to say, this is kind of irritating. Has been going on for a couple weeks. Samsung Internet on Android; I can get exact version numbers if need be.

Try Xenforo Default style and see what happens.

It's not happening with Safari or Firefox on iPhone.
I think it may be the style (Dark Responsive High contrast) or some update to Samsung's phones

Seems to work properly, so it looks like it must be a style issue?

The way skins work I think.
The way alerts work now is different than when some of the skins were programmed.
Beyond that, not my circus, not my monkeys.
