Youtube's new habit of automatically linking you to other AMVs is both great and terrible. Rcnr's My Freeze Ray AMV, for example, queued me up for the entire Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. I was practically forced to watch it.

It did let me run across this one though, which I like quite a bit:
Black Cat. Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting, which I actually like for the shots of Sven and Train's zany antics than the action.
 
It's catchy I guess, and it's nice to see some of those anime again...

But why is it set to like 30 pop and/or hiphop songs jammed together?
 
Found this fella on youtube by the name of BrokenElement89. His videos tend to be action-heavy sequences, usually set to hard rap. A lot of them are at least mildly NSFW. And you really have to watch closely, because his scene cuts are very fast, often set to the beat of whatever music he set it against.

Still, I liked his stuff quite a bit. Lots of blood-pumping, pretty, pretty fight scenes.


The best ones in my own opinion are:
1) the anime medley set to Burn It Down,
I wish I could figure out what anime has that teleporter, it looks neat.

2) Samurai Champloo / Soul Eater mashup set to Get'chu Twisted,
This one in particular uses the scene cuts set to the beat I mentioned earlier. Might annoy some, but I thought it was clever.

3) Street Fighter AMV set to The Remainder Is One,
I had no idea Street Fighter had multiple animes worthy of watching until this.

4) Akira AMV set to Let Freedom Reign,
Some of BrokenElement's music choices are a little suspect, but this one is dead on.


A few others in no particular order:
Black Lagoon, Birdy the Mighty / Naruto, a surprisingly dramatic FLCL, DBZ / Index, and a pretty decent Death Note AMV. Also, an especially fan service-y one for Ikkitousen / Tenjou Tenge that makes me wish Ikkitousen had more punching and less fanservice, because it's fight scenes are pretty awesome when they actually get going.
