Star Wars/ Worm crossover by Heather_Sinclair? Yes, please! So I take it this is either very early in the Old Republic, or your jiggering around the tech levels? I'm 90% sure that by the time R-2 and R-4's were in production, blasters were thoroughly reliable and commonplace.
Minor canon question aside, this looks like it will be awesome. Looking forward to more.
I cant wait to see Taylor's reaction to the crazy lady that looks like her mom.
Every time I see ranger in this fic, I think power ranger.... :3
Just as long as there's no Buzz Lightyear: Space Ranger jokes, we're all good.![]()
It's Clone Wars era around 22 BBY. Rose just doesn't like blasters. She likes signs that her suspects are put down... like actual blood. Some body armor is thin enough to be disguised under clothing and will stop a blaster round.
What piddly blasters are you talking about? The ones I'm familiar with will reliably kill people in heavy armour with a direct hit and will kill lightly-armoured persons with a moderately-close MISS.
Granted, those were military-grade blaster pistols and rifles and maybe what she could get her hands on would have been significantly weaker, but still. Blasters are notably more lethal than ballistic weaponry.
There are multiple advantages of slugthrowers over blasters, such as lightsabers and multiple shield types being functionally useless as a defense against them, easier restocking on some rim worlds, and less collateral damage, but increased base lethality is NOT one of them.
Blasters are the standard ranged weapon of choice for a reason; in most situations they're flat-out better.
Even if you ignore every specific bit of canon (including the movies) blasters are still the most common ranged weapon essentially everywhere. Unless something is really, REALLY screwy, blasters must be better than slugthrowers in most situations. Even an exceptionally large price disparity (that really wouldn't make any sense, anyway) in favour of blasters wouldn't answer it.
Unless you decide that what was shown on screen/on page isn't canon for purposes of this fic, the stated explanation (slugthrowers are definitely more lethal than blasters, which suck because even a thin layer of armour prevents you from being even mission-killed by them!) is utterly ridiculous.
Anyway, good luck escaping your slave owner, unnamed R-2 unit! Maybe you'll be able to hang out with Dragon.
Unless your're talking about something else, it's "schutta," and it's a Twi'lek insult.
I'll admit, the furthest I've gone into the Star Wars fandom is the movies and the kotor games. I look forward to seeing how this pans out.
Alas, poor Simurgh.
The terror of Earth Bet, done in by a hit-and-run.
Loving this story, btw.![]()
Not to worry. I didn't want to kill her. She's alive and well in the SW-verse. She just got a really nasty limp.![]()
Poor....everyone in the SW-verse, they just don't have the tech/abilities to deal with something like Ziz who no longer has to worry about surviving Zion and can now....PLAY.
Not so much an alternate dimension as a long time in the future in a galaxy far, far away.Cant wait till the crazy lady realizes that she is in an alternate dimension.
Unless your're talking about something else, it's "schutta," and it's a Twi'lek insult.
EDIT: Oh. Huh. It's also Huttese for "shut it." Weird.
It's mostly just generic SciFi, until they see her R2 unit. Also, guessing that Star Wars isn't a thing in this Earth Bet. Because someone would have noticed the references by now![]()
