A very morally grey entity intervenes unexpectedly, sending the wizarding world in an entirely new direction through a heavily trained agent, built for battle, ready to kill all of her master's enemies. A weapon in disguise, confused when given the mission of protecting the boy-who-lived instead.

Wand New
So this is the wand I envisioned for Lynne, if you were curious. Why the handle? I liked it when I was playing Hogwarts Legacy game.

Glossary & Random World facts - Year 2 New
Glossary & Random World facts - Year 2

Magic & Spells.

Spells:

Confundo: A charm which confuses and misdirects the target. It works on living and inanimate things, as long as the target has a mind to be confused
Everte Statum: Charm that causes an opponent to fly back several feet, and causes a short sharp pain depending on the strength of the spell, but does not cause any lasting damage.
Impervius: A charm that makes an object repel water and mist. Used by Lynne on Harry's glasses.
Legilimens: A charm that allows the caster to perform Legilimency; in other words, to delve into the mind of the victim, permitting the caster to see memories, emotions and thoughts.
Obliviate: Memory charm, also known as the Forgetfulness Charm, is a charm that can be used to erase specific memories from an individual's mind.
Rennervate: A charm that awakens a living target from a state of unconsciousness. Consequently, it serves as the counter-charm to the Stunning Spell.
Serpensortia: A transfiguration spell that conjures a live snake from the end of the wand.

Magic:

Apparition

It is a form of magical transportation in which the user travels instantly from one location to another without traversing the space in between. This is accomplished by focusing on a desired location in the mind and then purposely disappearing from the current spot to reappear at the destination. Apparition is by far the fastest and most convenient way to reach a destination, but it is tricky to perform correctly and disastrous if botched.
The ability to Apparate is a relatively advanced skill for wizards, but other magical creatures are also capable of disappearing and reappearing at will, such as house-elves, phoenixes, Diricawls, and Zouwus.
Apparition is a popular method of travel in the wizarding world, though many adult witches and wizards choose not to use it, preferring slower but safer methods such as broomsticks, the Floo Network, or Portkeys.

Animagus

An Animagus is a witch or wizard who can transform themselves into an animal and back again at will. It is a skill that can be learned, unlike the hereditary ability of a Metamorphmagus. Information on Animagi is taught to Hogwarts students during their third-year Transfiguration class. An Animagus Registry exists to keep track of those who have learned to transform in this way.
Any witch or wizard who wishes to become an Animagus must undergo a ritual-like process to achieve the ability. The process of becoming an Animagus is long and difficult and must be done in a very specific way. It requires skill, practice, and patience.

Magical Creatures & Beings

Elves:

A house-elf is a magical being that is immensely devoted and loyal to the one designated as their master. They serve wizards and witches and are usually found in the employment of old wizarding families residing in elaborate establishments, such as mansions. They must do everything their masters command unless they are freed. A house-elf can only be freed when their master presents them with clothes.
House-elves possess their own brand of wandless magic which, despite their small physical size and lack of a wand, is very powerful. All house-elves have their own form of powerful magic, which allows them to perform tasks, such as Apparating where wizards and witches cannot. Their abilities remain even after they are freed from their masters. More than just mere housekeepers, house-elves are ruthless protectors of those to whom they give their allegiance.
Their magic is limited by the lack of a wand. However, unlike some other magical beings, a house-elf is actually quite happy not to own one, as they do not require it for their daily activities. Apart from routine domestic tasks, house-elves usually need to obtain permission from their master before using their own brand of magic for other purposes.

Nargles:

The Nargle is a magical creature that Xenophilius Lovegood believes exists, though many others believe them to be non-existent or to be extinct. Nargles are known to infest mistletoe, and to be mischievous thieves. Luna Lovegood claims that her Butterbeer cork necklace keeps the Nargles away.

Phoenix:

The phoenix is a large, swan-sized scarlet magical bird with red and gold plumage, a golden beak and talons, black eyes, and a tail as long as a peacock's. Phoenixes usually nest on mountain peaks and are gentle herbivores, not known for fighting. A phoenix is also one of the most independent and detached creatures in the world.
A phoenix is normally magnificent, but every so often, it must rejuvenate itself through an event known as the Burning Day. During this event, the bird suddenly bursts into flames, only to rise from the ashes shortly after as a newborn chick. Within a number of days, it grows back to full size. As a phoenix approaches its Burning Day, it looks dreadful, resembling a half-plucked turkey. Its eyes become dull, feathers begin to fall out, and it starts making gagging noises. Thanks to this ability, phoenixes live to an immense age, perhaps even forever.

Diricawls:

The Diricawl (known to Muggles as the Dodo) is a plump, fluffy-feathered, and flightless magical bird native to the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. It is capable of disappearing and reappearing elsewhere, except when under the effects of Levioso. Diricawl eggs are green in colour.

Zouwus:

The Zouwu is a "five-coloured" creature that resembles a "gigantic elephant-sized cat." It is a monstrously large feline-like beast with a striped body similar to that of a tiger, a scraggly lion-like mane, four fangs that curl out of its mouth, long sharp claws, and a disproportionately long, ruffled multicoloured tail.
The Zouwu appears to be able to Apparate. This ability is powerful enough to bypass the Ministry's measures against Disapparition.

World Wise:

The Order of the phoenix:

A secret society founded by Albus Dumbledore to oppose Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters. It was created in the 1970s to work with the Ministry to oppose the Dark Lord and his followers, and played a crucial role in the Wizarding War. Their casualties were overwhelming when compared to the Death Eaters and it disbanded by the end of 1981 after Voldemort's fall. Its members were still in touch with Dumbledore should he need them.

Wizarding war:

The Wizarding War was a major wizarding conflict, with foundations as early as the 1940s, but officially beginning in 1970 and ending in 1981. It marked the original "reign" of the most powerful Dark wizard of all time, Lord Voldemort. This war took place at the height of his power and caused widespread panic and fear among the magical and Muggle communities.
The Dark Lord's insurgency was supported by his Death Eaters, a covert and violent group of dark wizards and dark witches who served him and brought terror to both the Muggle and Wizarding Worlds. They were opposed in turn by the British Ministry of Magic and the Order of the Phoenix.

Locations

Chamber of Secrets:

The Chamber of Secrets is created beneath the dungeons of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during medieval times by Salazar Slytherin. He disagreed with the other Hogwarts founders on the merits of blood purity. Before leaving the school, Slytherin constructed this Chamber with the hope of purging the school of those he considered unworthy to study magic. Slytherin had developed grandiose ideas of his own importance to the school, leaving a statue of himself in the chamber. The snakes carved around the Chamber of Secrets reference Slytherin's powers as a Parselmouth. The Chamber of Secrets is home to an ancient Basilisk. The Chamber is flanked with towering pillars entwined with carved wood, and the Statue of Slytherin stands at the far end. The Basilisk resides within the mouth of Slytherin's statue, symbolising Slytherin's ability to speak Parseltongue.

Potions

Polyjuice potion:

The Polyjuice Potion is a potion that allows the drinker to temporarily assume the physical form of someone else. It is highly complicated, challenging, and time-consuming. Polyjuice Potion is highly complex to make.
The potion is so advanced that it consists of two separate parts, each with its own set of steps. Once the brewing is complete, the potion must stew for a month before it can be used.

AN: Resonance is the last chapter of the second year, I hope you are enjoying the story so far. I will take a week off to revise the following chapter, also I'm expecting art of Lynne to be ready by then and share it here. Also... no, the snakey snake was not dealt with, back to slumbering and totally won't be a problem later on. Leave the poor thousand year oldie alone
