I used to play Kingdom of Loathing, to this day it's one of the funniest online games I've ever played.

If you're looking for something wild and crazy, try Candy Box. It's similar to cookie clicker but it goes in a distinctly different direction.
 
Echo Bazaar and the other one they do (Silver Tree?) have great writing.
 
Kittens Game
Lengthy idle/incremental game.
Resets increase how much farther you can go in subsequent games, faster.
Don't refuse to buy Huts the first few resets, Iron Will (No Kittens) mode is slow. Keep the number of kittens in Farming high, until after a few resets you can get away with just five of them. They starve easy otherwise.
