So, with the release of the DnD 5e Basic Rules for free here, I figured I ought to start a thread about DnD 5e to talk about it here!

What do you guys think? Personally, I quite like this little bit in the introduction:
Alongside these worlds are hundreds of thousands more, created by generations of D&D players for their own games.
Homebrew worlds are now canonical!
 
Well obviously that means that crossovers will occur at some point :p

More than that, I think: you know all those DnD crossover fanfics? Now they're canon.

Also, just got to the training rules: now there's a way for you to learn things other than murdering monsters! Spend 1gp/day for 250 days training, and you'll get proficiency in a new tool or a new language.
