Fic Recommendation Game

As I'm always on the hunt for something new to read and was just talking about it in chat, the Rec Game thread. It could also be called structured fic trading, but whatever.

Rules are simple.
1. You post a story that fits what the previous post suggests, include a small explanation. Post your own suggestion at the end.
2. Your suggestion must involve (at least) the series and a genre.
3. NSFW material needs to be avoided as per Rule 1. I'm fairly certain that doesn't include darkfics as long as they're not rapetastic.

I'll start off with another fic of note from the guy who writes that one story.

What 'Rule 1' are you talking about?

You can certainly link to NSFW stuff from anywhere you want on this forum, although it's really nice to mark such links with an appropriate label.

'That one story' being 'Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality'. Why wouldn't you say so?

Exactly what qualities would be present in your idea of "a moderately-realistic polyamorous relationship"? That could mean a number of things, and what qualifies for one interpretation doesn't necessarily qualify for another.

 

That part of rule one.

Because a lot of people have grown tired of Methods to the point where they literally won't touch something if you mention it in connection with the story.

*Coughs*

Usually a "Realistic polyamorous relationship" would qualify as one man with one son lording over a group of women, some of which are related to him by blood, in such a way that would make feminists everywhere scream bloody murder. Usually while avoiding civilization and/or law as much as possible, and getting away with it only as long as they can make people believe that interfering would infringe on their religious rights.

And... I'm going to drop this subject now. Its one I feel strongly about and this isn't the place for a rant or a debate.

If ya wanna get really technical, a harem is a place in the house where men aside from the head of the household aren't allowed to go where all the chicks, from your grandmother to your baby cousin, live or hang out.

Internet slang has harems pretty synonymous with a polyamorous relationship.

I know Chunin Exam Day is a Fic. I thought he said he wanted a Naruto Time Travel fic that Didn't Involve the Chunin Exam Day, since those are incredibly common.

Also, nobody has any good Bioshock Fics where the Little Sister and/Or the Big Daddy are the Main Characters? Sad Face!

Eh. If not Bioshock, any decent Metroid fics out there? Recently got to rereading Krahe's stuff, and suddenly feel craving for Good Metroid fics of Samus and her Metroid nature after the BSL station incident.

 

Actually I was giving it some time to see if other people would post. Neither of these are exactly happy stories.

Just popping in because I feel this needs clarification. You may provide links to NSFW content in any section, so long as you clearly mark the link as NSFW.
The purpose of the SFW/NSFW division is to allow people the choice to view adult content or not, at their discretion. Providing a link, and clearly marking it, will not infringe upon this, as they can simply not click it.

on the topic of chuunin exam day, I meant the fic, not the time period. However if a fic avoids the period too it's all good.
