Friends and Family PayPal Question [RESOLVED]

I recently had trouble commissioning someone that only accepted payment through the Friends and Family option but despite both of us apparently using our personal accounts I could not find any trace of it and was told they had no such trouble with other commissioners. So I assume it's a problem on my end and I was wondering if anyone knew of any similar occurrences and what have caused this.
 
When you send someone money, it should give you 2 options. One will say it's for goods and services, the other for friends and family, like so....

All I got was a text box for me to type in my reason for payment, and in the next page after pressing continue my payment seems to be for goods and services by default.

I don't think I have a business account as when I go to my settings it offers to upgrade to one.

That's the step BEFORE this.

Select amount and click next, it should give you option to pick Friends and Family.

I don't know if there's suppose to be another page in-between but these two are the only pages before payment that I can see. Don't ask why I decided to use shrunken windows as censors.

You gotta talk to PayPal support.
 
Tell them you're trying to send money to friend, but it doesn't let you.
 
I left a message on that PayPal Assistant thing for a staff member to pick up on as there doesn't seem to be any other method of contact, though I hope they don't lock me out of my account for whatever reason or ask me to send documentation proving my identity, that one sounds like a real hassle. I don't know if I could just make a new account if that were to happen and there are still others I want to commission.

Anyway thanks for your help on this.
 
Okay, so, funny story. I got a reply from customer support and they told me that personal payments sent from my country are no longer allowed. So that's a thing that happened. Honestly I'm just glad that they didn't lock my account.

I should probably be more upset about this but I can still commission other people so it doesn't bother me that much, even if that person was one of the only people I'm aware of that writes about the specific IP I like.
 
Might want to see about other online payment systems
