Prologue: 4000 Years

4000 years ago in a different place and time.

On a rocky land where grass seemed to barely make it's way through the ground underneath a gray sky of thick clouds, a man floated in the sky. No, to call him merely a man was a disservice to the being he had become.

He stood at almost seven feet tall, being the farther end of six foot nine and had a strong body that almost rivaled the mighty warriors of his time.

He had a long mane of golden hair that was in perfect condition despite the hours of fighting he had just been through. It was thick and lush, and it blew in the wind that was generated by the power he was releasing. His face was sharp and strong, with piercing blue eyes and a strong jaw.

A long black robe covered his body, and two large blue round metal shoulder guards lined with gold rested upon his shoulders. A black cape stretched behind him, blowing in the wind.

All around him creatures of the darkness were jumping, clawing and flying towards him, their gray spindly bodies and tentacle arms reaching up to him, trying to harm him, to defeat him as he floated above them with a content smile on his light face. Their black eyes like fishes as they desperately climbed over the mountains of corpses that were their defeated kin.

Small flashes of light were the only warning that something was wrong before dozens of their bodies exploded into offal and gore.

These crude humanoids were in no way weak, each standing at over nine feet tall and being more than capable enough to kill even seven star mages who were capable of themselves destroying entire cities and many knights individually. It was just that the man hovering above them was just that strong.

"Kiiieeeek!" the sounds of the creatures painfully dying could be heard over the blowing wind, and still, the man simply floated, arms crossed with a smile on his face.

This was nothing but an extermination.

Several of these gray tentacled creatures had jumped high into the sky, crossing almost forty meters with leg strength alone, only to be sliced apart by over a hundred swords of ice that orbited around the man, and their cries silenced as they fell down to the piles of corpses that were their brethren.

Yet still they came, wave after wave.

He had already demolished hundreds, even thousands, yet they still swarmed him.

"A mere human dares to-" The cry of one of them came through the slaughter, yet he was immediately cut down by another flash of light. It's body exploding in a shower of gore as he was just another victim.

"Don't you dare say that again" The man spoke, his voice rich and deep as if the entire world were speaking through him.

"What exactly are you?" Another asked from the ground, it's voice piercing through the wind and reverberating through the valley.

The man's smile widened, his blue eyes flaring with magical power.

"Haven't you heard of me?" He asked, his voice becoming louder with each syllable.

"The apostle of justice who fights against the horde of Evil that brings death and disorder to this world" He said, uncrossing his arms, his voice rumbling across the valley.

"That's me. Humanity's strongest Nine Star great mage. Lukas Trowman!" He finished as his voice shook the world, causing many of the creatures to fall to the ground. Then, in a flash of searing white light, every single one of the creatures for a mile around in each direction were vaporized instantly in a wave of relentless heat. Leaving the ground in a glassy state, reflecting the sky above.

However, even then, the creatures seemed to sprout from the ground, as if they were born from the earth itself. Crunch, crack, crunch.

They broke through the ground and jumped towards him only to be cut down yet again.

Soon, they began trying to reach him yet again.

"How dare a measly human stand against us!" Several of them shouted, their tentacle mouths slurring and salivating as they screamed.

"What an outdated mindset" Lukas Trowman said with unamused frown.

Boom Boom Boom

Hundreds of explosions chained one after another cleared the ground around him once again.

A smile graced his face again soon after.

"When someone like me achieves everything he ever wanted. He starts wanting to help the world out" He said, almost close to chuckling at the pitiful monsters below.

CRACK!

As if the world were just a pane of glass that shattered, several hundred of the creatures were bisected and their bodies slid to the ground, unable to resist.

"It's called volunteering" He said, smiling widely. It was a smile one would give when explaining something simple to a child that one was quite fond of.

"Ha! A petty human thinks he can stop us! Know your place!" One of the creatures called out from below. This one was much larger, standing at over twenty feet with a large stocky body.

Lukas just looked down with pity at the creature below.

"I see, you're a leader of them I suppose?" Lukas asked, waving his right hand, and the creature's head popped like a grape, spewing purple brain matter all over those nearby.

Raising his hand towards the sky, palm up, a golden circle of magic expanded quickly across the sky, spreading for almost a mile.

"Indeed I do think that. It ends here" He said, and a purifying golden light flooded across the land, evaporating every one of the foul creatures.

When the light died down, this time none came up from the ground.

This land had been cleansed and purified.

No more of the foul creatures would rise from the land ever again.

"Humans aren't as weak as you think" He said with a frown.

"Your ego is quite extreme, Lukas Trowman" A voice dripping with venom could be heard from the ground behind him.

Turning to look beneath him, Lukas saw something that was clearly not a mere creature.

Before he could even do anything, hundreds of pitch black hands rose from the ground, grabbing him and completely covering his body.

'I can't gather mana! What is this?" Lukas thought, his mind racing as he realized he was trapped.

"The sin for opposing God" He heard as he was dragged down to the ground.

"That which is not permitted to Humans" The voice continued. It's slimy venomous tone digging into his brain with a thousand blades. The land around him shifted, and he found himself in a sea of endless darkness as the hands gripped and tore at him, his soul, and his mind. Draining his very life force with the power of death.

"As you bathe in the absolute darkness of the abyss, you shall doubt endlessly, and wonder to yourself. Was it really worth it?" The voice continued as Lukas screamed in agony in the darkness with no one to hear him but the hands that tore and pulled at him.

"Doubt, and doubt again. Eventually you will doubt your own existence in the void, till even your last hopes fade to black, and then, only then will it have just begun. Eternal suffering is all that awaits for those who defy God" the voice continued, its venom sinking into his ears and tearing apart his brain in the freezing darkness.

Kneeling before a white stone altar in a beautiful white cathedral that stood next to the Roble Holy Capital's royal castle, A short blonde lady offered a prayer to her God. It was a prayer, and an offering was made, one of devotion and life.

She wore a white dress robe that had silver lace and golden strings and edges. Her pale shining skin and her bright blue eyes reminded one of perhaps a younger sister to the man Lukas Trowman if they were from the same world, however, such was not the case.

Her prayer was earnest and honest, and many religious figures were gathered in the cathedral, offering their divine power to her, in completing the ritual.

The stained glass windows depicting the victories over the Demi-Humans, and the many figures of their religion shone sunlight through and onto the floor and spotless carpets of red and gold.

Her eyes were shut, and her hands were clasped in prayer and devotion.

When she finished her prayer, she remained kneeling, her hands still clasped, and her head still bowed, a magnificent golden light coalesced on the long white altar, and from the golden light, a large figure formed upon the large altar.

Only after the hushed whispers could be heard, and the holy power faded from the cathedral, could she open her eyes.

Resting silently on the altar deep asleep and unconscious was a large muscular man with a mane of golden hair and a black robe. His blue eyes were open but unseeing.

Could this really be the hero that would save them?

Only time would tell.

The problem was, they didn't have much time left.

The Demi Humans were amassing forces in the hills, and enemies foreign and domestic were making moves.

"Bring this man to the quarters we have prepared, and tell me when he wakes up" Calca said as she got up, looking to the bishop next to her.

"Of course Your Royal Highness" The man said, bowing deeply and calling over people.

Then, as the exhaustion from preforming such a powerful ritual never done before washed over her, she almost fell over in exhaustion, but she was caught by the bishop , who gently rested her next to the altar.

"Someone, quick, Get Her Highness to her quarters and call the healers" He spoke, and sure as the rising sun, many people came, and the Princess was brought to her Royal quarters and tended to by many healers.

Later that day both the princess and the summoned man would awaken, and destiny would be unwound, bringing with it a new age. An age of both strife and victory.

It would be an age with Lukas Trowman at the helm.

Chapter One: The Princess New
Chapter One: The Princess

Warmth. It was something he had not felt for as long as he could remember in that freezing void. The constant sound of crunching and cracking of his bones being broken and knit back togather was all he could rmember, yet now there was a soft warmth and a soothing softness resting against his back and head.

He let out a laugh as he slowly opened his eyes. This had to be a trick, and illusion from the demigod who called himself Lord. One more cruel torture. Still, it felt all too real to be just a mere illusion.

Slowly, ever so slowly, his eyes cracked upoen.

The light hurt, yet he forced his eyes open further. All around him was that of a room in a castle. It was opulent and lavish. The walls were white with wallpaper of vines made from gold leaf, and the furniture was all sleek and cut masterfully from beautiful wood.

The bed he rested upon was no less lavish. It was white, wide and upon him rested a thick white blanket and sheets. Beneath his head was a soft white pillow where his mane of hair lay strewn across.

He relished this sensation, and even if it was an illusion, it felt so good.

A soft ray of sunlight seeped through the blinds over a glass window that was well set.

On the wall across from him, there was a large mirror overlooking a dresser made of polished redwood. Nearby there were a couple sconces lit up by magical stones that were replacements for candles. They gave the room a full, but not harsh light.

He sat up and rested his back against the headboard and let out a deep sigh. For an illusion, this was far too cruel.

"Lord, you have outdone yourself" He said, his words coming out slowly with deep resentment. However, no respnse came from the Demigod that called himself Lord.

However, a commotion from outside the door to the room could be heard. Seconds later the door was slowly opened.

In stepped a servant wearing a lacy servant's outfit that resembled a tuxedo with black pants, a jacket, shoes, a white lace and a white shirt. He looked to be in his early twenties, with pale skin, light reddish hair and green eyes. He was healthy and stood at about five foot nine.

"Milord, I was tasked to speak to you when you woke up and let you know that Her Royal Highness would be here to meet you shortly after you had awoken. If you need anything whatsoever, please allow this servant to get it for you" He bowed from a short distance from the bed.

Lukas took in the words from the servant, and ruminated for a second or two before responding.

"Thank you, young man. Tell me, what of the Demigods? Since you're here, I assume they were defeated" He asked, his eyes widening slightly.

The young man looked at him confusedly.

"Demigods?" He asked for a seond, before coming to a conclusion. The Four Gods were worshipped in the kingdom, and there were several lesser gods. Perhaps he was referring to them, but them being defeated didn't seem correct. At least not in the context this man seemed to be using.

"So, they don't even exist anymore? Or is this another world entirely?" Lukas asked, bringing his hand to his chin that was cleanly shaven. In the abyss, his body was unchanging, outside of the torture and wounds inflicted upon him.

"A-another world?" The servant stammered for a moment, realizing the severity of his words. Had they really brought a man over from another world?

"I see. So I was summoned here through some magical means?" Lukas asked, loking down at himself, only then realizing he was no longer in his robe. Hastily looking around, he saw his black robe folded up atop a table next to the bed. Instead, he was wrapped in white gauze and bandasges across his muscled chest. Pulling off the blanket and sheets, he saw he had on underwear and cloth white pants. At least he wasn't completely naked. Not that he would have minded, it was just that he had no intention of being in the nude around men.

Kassajin might not have minded being like that, but he certianly did.

Getting up from the bed, he stood at his full height and stretched, his arms reaching up and coming close to touching the white ceiling.

"Young man, what is your name?" Lukas asked after stretching.

"This servant's name is Carl milord" The servant said, giving another bow.

"Alright, Carl. You said something about a princess coming to speak with me. How should I prepare?" Lukas asked, looking over himself and giving himself a quick smell. He didn't like being disheveled or dirty.

"Uhhhh, you're fine the way you are. Her Royal Highness knows that you were injured, so please don't think much of it right now" the servant said, quickly realizing the awkward position he was put in.

"Wery well. It seems that this princess is kind enough to not make a fuss" Lukas replied before rolling his right arm in a circle to get the blood flowing and to ease his stiffness.

"Carl, is there a garden or a lawn where I can move around in? I'm feeling cramped in this room" Lukas said, looking around at the spacious room. For many, this room was quite wide and open, but he was never the one to want to stay indoors for any period of time, and after his nigh neverending torture, he wanted to see the sky again and feel the sun upon his skin.

"Of course milord, come follow me" Carl said, beckoning him out of the room.

The two walked down several hallways, where many servants passed, with quite a few of the maids and servant-girls lookong at Lukas with admiring, and other times sultry eyes. That much was to be expected, and he took some degree of pride in it, as he found his appearance and looks to be quite important, and he cared deeply for his health and body.

As they passed by quite a few men and women, the servant stopped mid walk in a wide hallway with long red capeted floors and long tapestrys and paintings on the walls. Large crystal chandeliers and sconces lined the ceiling and walls. Doors were opened and closed along the walls, yet everyone there stopped and bowed to somone who was approaching.

Bowing deeply, the servant stood at attention to the women who approached.

The first was a short young lady with a youthful charm, who had long golden blonde hair and bright blue eyes that looked ready to see all the world. She wore a petite white sun dress that matched her diminutive frame, and wore white low heeled shoes. A small white summer hat sat atop her head, and it had a wide brim with a thin veil. The other woman, a taller mature lady in shining steel platemail, with a white coat walked with meticulous strides, looking around for any and everything that might harm her Highness. She had brown hair that was kept raised by a white band, and dark blue eyes that seemed to take in everything around them, and more.

When the two approached, the servant Carl spoke up.

"Your highness, this is the man. He awoke not too long ago and wished to go to the garden" He said, bowing again.

"Thank you. We will take it from here" the young blonde lady said, and the servant hurried off.

Lukas was focused on something else though.

The moment he set eyes upon the woman in armor, he found himself infatuated.

When the princess approached, Lukas outright ignored her and gave a bow to the knight next to the princess.

"My dear lady, you are beautiful. Would you perhaps like to share your name with me?" Lukas asked, reaching his hand out to take the lady's gauntleted hand, only for her to bristle and slap his away.

"Know your place" She bristled, and almost reached for her sword. Her voice was sharp and strong, showing her ferocity and aggression.

"I know my place my lady, And it is with you for a night, or more" He responded with a wink, not intimidated in the slightest.

"Your highness, this disrespect" The woman hissed out, seemingly about to attack Lukas. The only thing holding her back seemingly the fact the princess was there.

"Easy, Remedios, our guest here is quite rambunctious yes, but do not take it to heart" The young blonde lady spoke, and Lukas turned to her and bowed.

"My sincere apologies your highness, I was just so captivated by your knight guard's beauty that I lost my etiquite for a moment" He said, looking her in the eye with playful exxagerated sorrow.

"It it quite alright. Nothing a few words can't fix. I am Calca Bessarez, Princess of the Roble Holy Kingdom. Who might you be, traveler?" She asked, giving him a warm smile.

Lukas rose back to his full height and held his arms out wide.

"Lukas Trowman, Nine Star Mage" He finished his bragadocius introduction, and brought his arms back togather and bowed again.

"At your service" He smiled a happy smile before rising again.

"I See, well met Lukas, please, call me Calca" She responded before turning towards the door at the far end of the hallway.

"Since you were heading towards the garden, allow me to accompany you" Princess Calca spoke, giving Lukas a thoughtful look.

" Of course your highness" He replied and stepped in line next to her.

"You-" Remedios was about to speak from the other side of the Princess, but Calca cut her off.

"What did I say, Remedios?" She said, this time much more stern.

"Yes your Highness" Remedios flinched, and stayed quiet after.

As the three walked through the picturesque hallway, the princess asked a question.

"Lukas, when you said Nine Star Mage, what does that mean?" she asked as the three of them passed through a door only to find themselves shortly after in a large walled off garden with a large lawn and plenty of blooming flowers. Lawn tables and trees dotted the grass on paths through. It was a large garden, rivaliing the size of the castle itself, and it stretched around the castle as well.

Lukas gave a soft laugh.

"Finally, something I'm comfortable talking about. Your highness, in my world, mages are divided into stars defining their abilities, cores and power. The weakest, novice magicians are one and two stars, barely outside of school. The strongest, such as myself, we are Nine Star mages, disasters capable of wiping entire countires off the map single handedly, or curing plagues, healing those who suffer serious wounds, purifying lands, or creating vast hordes of magical items" He said, giving an enthusiastic explanation.

The sound of Remedios clenching her gauntlets could be heard but she was ignored.

"Fascinating. What type of mage are you among those criteria?" The princess asked with her eyes full of curiosity.

"Hmm. I guess you could say I'm an all rounder, but I mostly focus on fighting" He replied, thinking about his countless fights with the Demigods.

"That is quite a burden, what did you fight back in your lands?" She asked, her eyes glinting with curiosity.

"Demigods" Lukas's face turned dark and he frowned.

"Demigods?" The princess's eyes widened.

"Yes, they are peices of the greater God that he breathed life into, and in the beginning they were kind and benevolent, but over the millenia, they turned cruel and evil, subjugating the races of the World, humans, Dragons, Elves and all. In the end, me and my comrades fought to the end, but they were too strong. The power of God could not be undone" He frowned deeply before his smile returned.

"But as I am here, I'm guessing you need help with something. Worry not young Princess, this old man will help you with anything you could need. And you as well, lady Remedios" He said, giving Remedios another wink.

She stayed silent due to the instruction from her princess, but it was clear that she was displeased with this Lukas Trowman fellow's story and attitude.

"That gives me much hope for the future, Lukas. Perhaps you could demonstrate your ability somewhat?" Calca asked.

"Of course your highness, but in return, perhaps you could permit me to larn more about this world I find myself in?" Lukas asked, bringing his hand to his chin in thought.

"I can permit that. Perhaps later after you have eaten, that can be discussed, and you can meet some of our royal mages" She said, giving him a wam look.

"I sense quite the amount of magical power from you Your Highness. You don't need to be so modest" Lukas said, a grin plastering his face.

"You have a sharp sense Lukas, I am indeed a magic caster. However, I am a holy magic caster, likely different from what you use for magic" She said, and Lukas flinched for a moment.

"Apostle" he murmured, shaking his head before his smile came back.

"I'm sorry your highness, when I heard holy magic, I was reminded of something unpleasant, but this world is different from my own" he said, giving her an apology.

"It is of no matter, come let us sit at a table nearby, I find it uncomfortable having to look up at you all the time" She said, walking towards a table that had a canopy and several chairs of white metal with cushions.

"Of course your highness" Lukas said, stealing a glance at Remedios who scowled at him, and the three made their way over to a table where soon they would discuss the matters of this new world.
