How do you remove the self critic, and how do you write what you want to write.

Hello everyone, sorry to be a bother but I am looking for everyone and anyone comments on how they write, and how they manage to avoid or overcome the self-critic.

I am someone who aspires to write, to put my stories, onto paper but inevitable they will all fall to self-critic. Since the beginning of this year alone, the stuff I have written has become under self-scrutiny by me, and I will also be unhappy with what I have put down into words.

This is a general call for help from anyone who has written something, for tips and tricks to write.

TLDR: Tell me how to write without the self-critic stopping me.

Somewhere in one of his blog posts, Max Barry mentions that he starts out with an idea that seems cool to him, writes until he doesn't like what he's writing any more, and then throws out over ninety percent of what he wrote and keeps just the bits he likes best. Every so often, he gets a book out of it. He's an author professionally, so it seems to work for him. So, I don't know, maybe poking around his blog will lead you to stumbling across something useful to you?

The other thought I have is.... I'm not sure how to describe it efficiently, but there's an idea floating around in my head that I'll refer to as Most People Don't Know How To Practice Effectively, and another about having to write like a million and a half words before you start to get good (a corollary to that "you've got a thousand bad drawings in you, might as well start getting them out now" idea), and it seems like there might be something at the intersection of those two.
