What it says on the tin, let's say in these scenarios how would the various factions deal with the Marker from Dead Space?

1. On an Imperial Research Station known as the Spire, they discovered a large twisted helix object that is capable of generating large amounts of power. Problem is, the station went dark. Now the Imperium is curious about what just happened, and are still getting some psychic signatures from the station.

2. An Eldar Craftworld's Farseer has a vision about the Marker, and is now dedicated to hunting it down. Once they find it, it's on a barren planet.

3. The Tau find a large, barren planet with a cracked surface. There's a strange object resting on the top of a mountain, and it's taken back to a research facility far from the Tau homeworld. How would they deal with it?

If I have missed anything, please cover it for me because I'm a bit tired.

1. When the assault with the guardsmen fails? Exterminatus
2. Does the Eldar have exterminatus? Because if so, defintly exterminatus.
3. Really the only way to deal with Markers is world cracking weapons. Because fuck Markers.

Inquisition gets involved. Either it blows up or is locked in a secured vault somewhere until inevitably stolen and blown up.

They arrange for an Ork WAAAAGH!, a Tyranid Hive Fleet splinter and some poor Guardsmen to clash around the Marker to the detriment of all, Eldar the most, in an overly-complicated scheme they think may pay off two thousand years down the line but would most likely be better substituted by just blowing the blasted thing right the fuck up.

It works perfectly as a power source since the Tau are (almost) soulless blueberries and they can't seem to find anything wrong with the device. There are some alarming reports about the behavior of their slave comrade species, but so far no credible link between the Device and the change in behavior has been found.

1. (a) The Adeptus Mechanicus would dedicate their time to finding out if this device is human or alien in nature. Depending on how they are in regards to Xenos tech they'll either destroy it by any means, quarantine it, send it to Mars or start killing everyone with enough flesh to be turned into a Necromorph before fucking with the thing.

1. (b) The Ordo Xenos would investigate the construct and then try and hide it in the deepest hole they can find in order to make use of it later/keep it from lesser mortals or simply destroy the Marker if possible via spacing it or put into the nearest star.

2. They'll manipulate their enemies to go to it and wind up throwing Orks, Tyranids, Space Marines or the Inquisition at it and end up fucking things up for everyone once Chaos realises they haven't been invited to the fuck-up-in-progress.

3. Take one good look at a 'morphed Tau, remember the Tyranids and nuke the thing out of fear.
