Chapter 15 New
Chapter 15

Great Hall of the Red Keep, Late 281 A.C., Wedding Night

I scoff at Lord Mallister's words while taking a sip of the fruity-tasting summerwine from my golden, jewel-encrusted goblet. "Great, Lord Frey wants to turn the trade fleet into a place to dump his sons. How many is sending?" I asked in resignation as I cut a piece of roasted auroch and savored a forkful of one of the many dishes on the massive table.

Lord Mallister was seated to my right on the "Stannis side" of the table as I mentally dubbed it. The king sat at the head of the western end of the table, with his new wife and Lord Stark to his right and the Lord Hand with his wife Lysa Arryn and her uncle Ser Brynden "the Blackfish Tully to Lady Arryn's left. Lord Dustin, Master of Laws Lord Royce, Grand Maester Pycelle, the High Septon, and Prince Oberyn filled out the middle of the table. Prince Stannis sat across from his brother at the head of the eastern end of the table, with Princess Cersei and Lord Tywin Lannister to his right and Prince Renly and Ser Ealon Estermont to his left. I was located with Lord Mallister to my right, Lord Lannister to my left, Prince Renly was seated left diagonally form me, Master of Whispers Lord Estermont sat across from me and Ser Herbert Bolling sat across to the right diagonally.

"At least one son from each wife." The Master of Coin answered and I suppress a sign when the old man began listing them. "Ser Emmon, second son of Lord Frey, is leading the Freys with his firstborn son, Cleos, and his nephews Ryman, son of Ser Stevron, and Aegon, son of Ser Aenys. Ser Jared from Lord Frey's second wife, all six sons from his third wife Amarei Crakehall, and Jammos from his fourth wife. They are accompanied by Ser Harys Haigh, son of Lord Frey's daughter, representing House Haigh, sworn bannermen of the Freys." My eyes widen at the dozen Freys joining the Sunset Trade Fleet as part of the Riverland convoy that has grown with participation from much of the western Riverlords such as the Paeges of Fairmarket, the Pipers of Pinkmaiden, both Vances, the Brackens and the Smallwoods of Acorn Hill. The Tullys were the only lords in the area that haven't invested, with Lord Hoster Tully still in Riverrun with his daughter Lady Caitlyn Stark, who was due to give birth in roughly a moon.

"How much gold and how many ships is the Riverlands investing?" I ask before digging my fork into a small shepard's pie, the fork breaking through the pastry to dig out the mutton and vegetables covered in a brown gravy. I put the forkful in my mouth and savor the delicious gravy

"As of now, five thousand gold dragons worth of goods across five ships." Lord Mallister took a sip and lowered his voice. "You have my thanks for your support alongside the other Riverlords against Lord Frey's push for Ser Emmon to be the Lord Captain of the Riverlands convoy. It only got as far as it did due to the Brackens, Smallwoods, Wayfarer's Rest Vances, Vyprens, and outside support." He subtly gestured his head towards Lord Lannister, who was deep in conversation with his daughter and goodson about Storm's End. I quickly glance over to Ser Ealon, talking with Prince Renly and Ser Herbert about Drangonstone, but subtly tilting his head to eavesdrop on our conversation.

"My son Ser Jason, will be the lord captain the Riverlands convoy." Lord Mallister's voice returned to his normal volume. Lord captain was the title given to the leaders of each of the Northern, Riverlands and Westerlands convoys of the Sunset Trade Fleet.

I raise an eyebrow. "You're letting your heir lead, why risk him when you have his younger brother?" I ask before taking my own sip.

"Aye, it's a risk. But my eldest is near thirty and has both a younger brother and a son if the worst happens." Lord Mallister answered before taking a bite of grilled halibut and I ate some sauteed shrimp off my plate. Along with Ser Jason, Wyman was the lord captain of the Northern convoy and Gerion Lannister led the Westerlands.

Gerion became the new lord captain of the Westerlands convoy as of yesterday, when after the king announced the creation of the Royal Trade Fleet, Tywin announced he was investing five thousand golden dragons each into both trade fleets to casually show off his wealth. This was on top of the five thousand dragons and five ships the Westerlands had put together without him led by my future goodfather and Lord Farman. This included investments from all the Lannister cadet branches and most of the major Westerland houses with the Marbrands, Crakehalls, Swyfts, and Silverhills being the biggest contributors.

Of the twenty thousand golden dragons invested in the Sunset Trade Fleet, a quarter was by the North, matched by the Riverlands with the Lannisters now providing half and Tywin was using it to try to put his brother as head captain of the trade fleet. It was only with Lord Mallister and I coming up with the Rule of Two for the Three Captains that prevented a complete Lannister takeover. The rule was, when the lord captains met to plan, if two agreed on a decision, they would take that course of action with the dissenting third lord captain allowed to present their case. This will allow my cousin and Ser Jason to the ability veto Tywin's brother if need be.

"I'm surprised you allowed your heir to join. But then again, both my cousins Galbert Glover and Owen Fisher are joining the trade fleet. Their fathers only allowing it due to both having younger brothers." I say as I cut a piece of auroch and dip it in the brown gravy before eating it.

"Ser Halmon Paege is the heir of Fairmarket and Lord Norbert Vance of Atranta is allowing his eldest two sons to join, so I'm not the only one. Though like your uncles, both houses have spares just in case. Which Northerners are joining?" Lord Mallister asked and I caught Ser Estermont's head tilt again as he was talking to Ser Herbert.

"Besides my three cousins, my future goodbrother Leobald Tallhart, Ronnel Stout, Edwyle Brownburrow, Benjicot Wells and from the western hill clans, Mikken Wull, Brandon Norrey, and Bowen Harclay. The Wolfswood clans of Bole, Woods, Branch, Moss, and Fern are all sending at least one son and nephew." I answered as I polish off my goblet and set it on the table only for a servant to refill it again with summerwine.

"Lord Seastark, I heard you and Lord Dustin were intending to set up trading posts in the Summer Islands." Ser Ealon said across from me with a smile. My eyes met his as I hear the prince and Tywin stop their conversation to listen.

"Indeed, we are Ser Ealon. We intend to set them up to facilitate future trade between the North and Summer Islands." I say carefully as I take another bite of the shepard's pie, ignoring the lords' intrigued reactions as I serve myself an apple baked soft with cinnamon. "I suggested the idea to Lord Dustin back when we were first planning the trade fleet, before it's…expansion."

I take a bite of the cinnamon apple, the sweet cinnamon pairing nicely with the natural tartness of the granny smith apple as the lords absorb my response. I turn to Lord Lannister next to me to see him finishing up some internal debate in his mind before he answered. "I would be willing to invest in the establishment of these trading posts in return for House Lannister gaining access to them."

Well, that answered my question on what he was debating. It seemed that he decided that it would be easier and cheaper to work with me in establishing trading posts instead of competing against me and setting up his own.

"I would also be willing to agree to a similar arrangement." I hear Lord Mallister say and I nod.

"Equal investment for equal profits?" I ask the Master of Coin and Warden of the West and get nods and murmurs of confirmation. I take a sip of wine as I see Prince Stannis having his own internal debate and I take another bite of cinnamon apple.

"I will also invest in the construction of your trading posts. The Royal Trade Fleet will arrive moons after your trade fleet and it makes little sense to me to waste coin creating our own trading posts when yours will be already established. Therefore, I will invest in yours on the condition that the Royal Trade Fleet gets use of them." Prince Stannis stated to the table's surprise. I was caught flatfooted as I looked to Lord Lannister and Lord Mallister before answering. "Uh… I have no objections." I say slowly while the Master of Coin shrugs and the Warden of the West nods and confirms his agreement.

"I heard you intend to only visit half of the islands. Are we only building trading posts there?" Lord Lannister asked me and I gave an awkward chuckle.

"That was back when the trade fleet was just Northerners and was planned for a moon or two of sailing around the northern half of the islands. Now that it's much larger and with better funding, we can add the other half of the Summer Islands. Though that will extend their stay to at least three or four moons." I respond as I cut up another piece of auroch and dip it in the brown gravy again and placing it in my mouth before chewing and swallowing. "Although now that I think about it, we're putting a lot of money into this trade fleet and the construction of trading posts guarantees this isn't a one-time thing. Which means we will need better organizational structure and funding."

Lord Lannister gives me a raised eyebrow. "And what do you propose?" He says, seeming to half anticipate and half dread what I'm about to suggest. I simply smile. "I propose instead of a trade fleet; we create a trade company!" My words are only met with looks of confusion. I suppress a sigh and dredge up all the memories I had about the British and Dutch East India Companies.

"Have you ever heard of a joint-stock company?" I ask and he shakes his head. "Well, it works like this…" I begin to explain after taking a large sip of summerwine.

Two hours later…

A slow melody plays as the royal couples having the first dance of the night shortly after each couple cut their ceremonial pigeon pies, letting out live birds trapped in the pastry. I was scanning the crowd for Myrra, my uncles, cousins, anyone really as I try to exit the awkward conversation I found myself held hostage to.

"…think you're better than us despite being a younger house…" The Late Lord Frey himself, flanked by his two eldest sons Ser Stevron and Ser Emmon, quietly ranted his displeasure at my support for the Mallisters while Ser Emmon glared at me. My eyes flicker to the dancefloor and I notice the first song ended, as I see the Lord Hand lead his new wife by the hand, with lords and ladies following their example.

"Now Father, mayhaps we can remedy this by tying our houses closer." My eyes shift back as Ser Stevron turned to me with a diplomatic smile. "My firstborn son Ryman, has just become a grandfather with a newborn granddaughter, Walda and his third son, Petyr was born last year. I know your house is currently spoken for in betrothals but mayhaps the next generation of Seastarks can be betrothed to one of them." I'm caught flatfooted by the off as Ser Emmon turned his glare to his older brother while his father frowned and awaited my answer.

"That is an… intriguing offer." I say half politely, half-truthfully. On the one hand, I didn't want to tie myself to the Late Lord Frey for obvious reasons. On the other hand, Ser Stevron is his firstborn son and heir, considered one of the few decent Freys by both the Westerosi highborn and the fans, and marrying into his side of the family would give me a decent amount of influence within House Frey.

"Hugo! There you are!" I heard a soft, feminine voice cut in. The eyes of the three Freys widen at the interruption as I turn to see Myrra walking up to us. "Trying to get out of that dance you owe me?" She asked with a knowing smirk. I didn't remember any promised dances, but I saw my chance to escape and played along.

"Of course not, Myrra. I wouldn't dream of using Lord Frey to dodge my obligations." I say smoothly as she walks up next to me and gives a polite curtsy to the Freys, who return her greeting but look at us strangely.

"No titles, eh? Awfully close aren't you two?" Lord Frey points out the lack of titles when addressing one another with a slimy grin and I narrowed my eyes. "What are you implying, Lord Frey?" I ask with a slight edge to my voice.

"Oh, I just find your lack of titles interesting, Lord Seastark. The last time I saw such a young betrothed couple calling each other by their given names, they were betrothed because the lad took her maidenhood…" He trails off with his grin turning into a slimly smile and I don't like what he's implying.

"No. I have done no such thing, and would never dishonor her or her house." I coldly state while Myrra blushes furiously and denies Lord Frey's implied accusation. "Now if you excuse me, I have a promise to keep to my betrothed." I offer my hand to her and she takes it. We both make our way to the dancefloors and begin to dance.

"Thank you for getting me out of that conversation." I whisper with a small smile. "Well, how could I allow my betrothed to be hounded by Lord Frey?" She said with a smirk and we both giggled.

"What was that about anyway?" She asked with a curious tone and I sighed. "Lord Frey was…displeased that I didn't support his son for Lord Captain and Ser Stevron was pushing for a future betrothal between our houses."

Myrra's eyes narrowed slightly. "And what did you say?" She asked warily, remembering how I betrothed our future child to House Dustin without her say.

"You saved me from giving an answer when you swooped in and rescued me" I said playfully and she smiled. "How was your dinner?" I asked.

"It was good, I sat with my family, my good friend Jeyne Farman, and her betrothed Ser Gareth Clifton. Ser Gareth, along with her brother Sebaston are both part of the Western convoy. They're both very excited about the Sunset Trade Fleet's voyage to the Summer Islands." She says with a radiant smile and I can't help but smile back.

"I'm glad to hear it. How many Western highborn are joining?" I inquire since so many Northern and Riverland highborn were participating.

"Ser Burton Crakehall, Ser Swyft's heir, Ser Samwell Spicer, Ser Cedric Banefort, Ser Addam Marbrand, Lord Lydden's second born son, Lord Kenning's cousin, Ser Forley Prestor, and Lord Serret's heir are the most notable. Not to mention the other Lannister cadet branches, the Lannys, Lantells, and Lannetts are all sending second and third sons." Myrra listed the various Westerland highborn being thrown in with all the other Northern and Riverland highborn on the voyage.

"I hadn't expected so many lords to send their heirs, brothers, cousins or second sons. There's already a lot of Northern and Riverland highborn involved." I say as we continued dancing.

"Many lords see your trade fleet as opportunity for both profit and experience for the young highborn." Myrra explained before she gave me a curious look. "So… How was dinner at the royal table?"

"Ah, there is no more Sunset Trade Fleet." I say solemnly, seeing Myrra's eyes widen in shock then caused me to laugh. "It's been replaced by the Sunset Trade Company." I say, emphasizing the last word to Myrra's visible confusion.

"What's the difference?" She asks. "Well, it will be funded by a joint-stock exchange…" We continued to dance while I explained what a joint-stock company was.

Later…

"…So a Council of Directors, led by you or your cousin as Head of the Council, elects a Lord Director to run the company but can vote to remove them." Lady Darlessa Marbrand says trying to understand the organizational structure of the new trade company while we danced. The Council of Directors is the Westerosi version of Board of Directors for the trade company. "Aye. The council of one-and-twenty directors is made up of seven houses each from the North, Riverlands, and Westerlands and only needs two thirds vote to remove a Lord Director." I continue explaining the trade company…

"…Who's going to be the first Lord Director?" Lady Gwenys Blackwood nee Piper, wife of Lord Grover Blackwood asked me as we danced. The Lord Director is the name I gave to this world's version of a CEO. "Lord Lannister and I agreed to a compromise that his brother Gerion Lannister would be the first Lord Director while House Seastark would get the Head of Council position." I informed her as I spy Myrra dancing with Prince Oberyn and Wyman dancing with Lady Staunton…

"…I noticed you and Lord Lannister arguing earlier." Queen Lyanna commented while she pierced me with her sharp, gray eyes. "Arguing is a strong word… more like debating where the trade company's headquarters would be." I say with a shaky smile.

When I pitched the idea for a trade company, both lords were surprisingly receptive as the experienced lords quickly grasped how creating a trade company could profit them. When we were negotiating things like the Council of Directors and who would be the first Lord Director, things went relatively smoothly. Lord Lannister, not surprisingly pushed for his brother, Gerion to get the position with Lord Mallister and I letting him have it with the compromise of me getting the Head of the Council position and the promise that the next Lord Director would be elected to be Ser Jason Mallister. Then the topic of where the company's headquarters would be and all three of us heavily debated it's location.

"Each of us pushed our city, or in the Mallisters' case, large town, as the location for the headquarters but Lord Mallister dropped out of the running fairly early, leaving Lord Lannister and I to decide." I explained as the song changed but we continued to dance.

"And how did that go?" The Queen asked with a tinge of wariness.

"I proposed that since the whole thing was my idea, that it should be in Wolfsport, while Lord Lannister countered that Lannisport was larger, richer, and most importantly, closer to trade routes. Of course, I didn't want Lord Lannister to have too much power within the company, so in the end, Lord Mallister came up with a compromise. The Council of Directors would have an annual meeting that's location would rotate between Lannisport, Wolfsport, and Seaguard with the first meeting being in Lannisport after the dual wedding." I inform her and she looks thoughtful for a moment.

"Prince Oberyn looked quite intrigued by your idea for a trade company." She finally says. "He and everyone sitting in the middle of the table heard your debate, I was too far away."

"Oh? And did he mention his thoughts?" I asked, curious to hear the Red Viper's reaction.

"He only said it gave him an idea. How did Prince Stannis react?" The Queen responded.

"He was intrigued like Prince Oberyn and was mulling it over last I talked to him. What did your brother, the Lord Hand, and his grace think of it?" I inquired because if she knew about it, then they definitely did too.

"My brother and the Lord Hand see the merits of your idea for a trade company, but are cautious of such a new idea. His grace didn't seem to care one way or another and simply decided to entrust the decision to the Lord Hand." She answers.

I snort. "Really? Because they had no issue taking my idea for a trade fleet."

"A trade fleet isn't a new idea, but a trade company, especially funded by your stock exchange…thing, is. The Small Counsel will no doubt discuss it, since the Master of Coin is your co-conspirator." She says with shrug, looking thoughtful for moment before speaking again. "So, this trade company. It means this partnership with Lord Mallister and Lord Lannister will be a long-term thing, will it?" Queen Lyanna said with a neutral face I couldn't read.

"Aye. I'm sure there will be more trips to the Summer Islands and trips to the Free Cities at the very least. Though the two places I really want to send to trade fleets are Ibben and Yi-Ti." I say as the Queen looks surprised.

"Yi-Ti I can understand, but why Ibben?" She asked inquisitively.

"To trade of course! But no, really, the Ibbenese are renowned sailors and are the only people to build a whaling ship large and strong enough to catch leviathans. If some kind of deal could be worked out with the Ibbenese for their knowledge on whaling and shipbuilding, I could build up a whaling industry in the Bay of Ice and Sunset Sea!" I say half-drunkenly, feeling the eight glasses of summerwine I had during the dinner as the Queen absorbs my words.

"That is an interesting idea, Lord Seastark." She says slowly. "My brother would support such a venture provided any obtained knowledge benefits all the North. The Manderlys would no doubt want to establish their own whaling industry based out of White Harbor."

I nod. "As long as it's the Manderlys and not the Karstarks or Umbers with a whaling company, I'll tolerate it. Hells give it to the Skagosi if you must, mayhaps it'll give them something to do other than eat each other." I jape and the Queen chuckles before catching herself and forcing her face to reform the same regal look she had on earlier.

We both hear the song end and switch partners and I end up face-to-face with Princess Cersei.

"Lord Seastark." She greets neutrally. "Princess Cersei." I greet back with a strained smile. "I see you've taken up falconry as a hobby now that Prince Stannis gifted you that peregrine falcon." I say, mentioning Prince Stannis' wedding gift to her.

"Yes, my husband prefers falconry to hunting and I find myself enjoying it to my surprise." She responds with almost befuddled look on her face, as if finding any common ground with her husband was unexpected.

"Well, it's great to see you two bonding." I say as we dance…

A few songs later I'm dancing with a very drunk Lady Jeyne Farman. "Sos, Myrra and I was talkin' and I try and makes a friendly wager *hic* about which of us would have more childrens." She says slurring her words yet dancing with no problems.

"Oh? And what did you two wager?" I asked with a chuckle, remembering that Lady Jeyne would go on to have a dozen children.

"Fifty golds to whichever *hic*one of us has the mostest children." She slurs with a drunken smile. Poor Myrra, she would have never made that wager if she knew she had to beat a dozen. I hope she doesn't expect us to keep up baby for baby because I'm not sure Castle Warg or the North could handle that many Seastarks.

"My brother and betroths are really *hic* really excited to goes on the big trade fleet everyones talkin about. Gareth says hes gonna get me *hic* somethings nice in the Summers Islands."

"I bet they are." I say casually. Seeing just how drunk she was, I scan the crowd and spot her brother and her betrothed talking off to the side as the current song winds down. "Hey let's go talk to your brother and your betrothed." I say and gesture my head towards them.

She looks around in that direction, squinting her eyes. "Oh yeahs, let's go talks to them!" As we began to walk to them, all of the grace and coordination Lady Jeyne had when she was dancing vanished and she immediately sways to the left before I quickly grab her arm. She mumbles a thanks as I stick out my left elbow for her to grasp onto for support. The courtiers that saw us walking gave us confused looks before seeing Lady Jeyne drunken swaying and nodding their heads in understanding.

"You're a goods friend Lord Seastark. Myrra's lucky to bes marrying you. It's funny, shes was so *hic* upset when the woods witch tolds her she woulds be marrying a Northerner!" She whispered to me and it takes a second for her words to register.

"Wait, what?" I asked confused. Surely, she couldn't mean…

"We wents to a woods witch with Cersei and Melara, *hic* but I gots scared by her eyes and Melara gots lost and drowned." She mumbles the last part sadly, remembering her childhood friend.

"Sister!" "Lady Jeyne!" I'm prevented from asking more by two voices.

"Brother! Gareth!" Lady Jeyne slurred drunkenly at her brother and betrothed walking to us worriedly at seeing her state.

"Evening Ser Sabaston. Ser Gaerth." I say and nod to each of them. "I believe Lady Jeyne has had enough summerwine this evening."

"Indeed, she has. You have my thanks for bringing her to us, Lord Seastark." Ser Sabaston said with an appreciative smile.

"You have my thanks as well, Lord Seastark for looking after her." Ser Gareth chimed in with a respectful nod.

"It was no problem, good Sers! Lady Jeyne is very good friends with my betrothed and would hate to see anything happen to her. I'll let you take it from here" I said and left quickly.

I looked for Myrra while wondering how I was going to subtly ask her about it, considering no one is supposed to know what happened that night and Melara Hetherspoon was probably murdered by a ten nameday old Cersei. Which meant my betrothed might be an accomplice to murder. Great.

I'm pulled out of my thoughts when I hear someone shout. "TIME FOR THE BEDDING!" Followed by a round of cheers.

I look for the royal couples and see Prince Stannis. His eyes met mine and he nodded before being surrounded by various ladies, who began to carry and strip him. I returned the nod and headed toward his wife, who was already being surrounded herself by various Storm, Crown, and Westerlords. I made eye contact with Ser Herbert Bolling and Ser Davos as we work on the task the Prince Stannis entrusted with us: participate in the bedding ceremony while making sure the lords stripping down the princess didn't get too handsy. Even with the aid of Ser Tyrek Lannister, the task proved easier said than done as the lords stripped her dress and shouted bawdy japes about stags and lionesses mating or quips about her body. All the while, similar bawdy japes about stags and wolves could be heard not too far away as both couples were having the bedding ceremony in Maegor's Holdfast. Lord Farring glared at me when I smacked his hand from the Princess' left breast and I simply gave him a defiant look that dared him to do something. He settled for facing forward and joining a jape that involved rhyming the words stag with shag.

After a few more minutes of walking, and a few smacks later, we dropped the naked couple on their bed and when they scrambled under the covers, we cheered as the ceremony was complete. The prince gritted his teeth while his wife glared at us as the lords began to leave the room, still making dumb, perverted japes on the way out.

"My prince, there's too few Baratheons so you need to make more." I give him a simple pep talk as make my way out and see him raise an eyebrow. "Also, I'd love if you'd give me the details since I'd like to have notes for my own lioness." I chuckle as the prince grits his teeth harder, exiting the room. I headed back to the Great Hall while several lords stood outside the couple's chambers yelling japes and advice to the couple newlyweds within.

I eventually found Myrra again in the Great Hall and we talk again as I figure out a way to broach the subject of Maggy the Frog. Eventually I decided to just come out and say it. "You friend mentioned a woods witch she fled in fear from because her eyes were scary."

I see Myrra freeze and curse under breath as she looked at me with worried eyes. "Hugo, please. Not here or now." She says before leaning closer and whispering solemnly. "I will tell you everything after we have become married in the eyes of both the Seven-Who-Are-One and the Old Gods, I swear."

I keep silent, staring her beautiful, jade-colored eyes before sighing. "Alright. But I'll hold you to that promise, Myrra." I stated firmly and she nodded. We awkwardly bid each other good night as I met up with Wyman and called it a night.

One week later…

Wyman and I rode with the House Seastark men-at-arms and levies as the army of the North marched out of King's Landing. Lord Stark led us out of the Gate of the Gods after his sister gave an emotional goodbye to both her brother and son, while the king stood respectfully silent before giving his foster brother a warm goodbye of his own. Prince Stannis and I exchanged nods and small smiles.

I look back at the Seastark host, two-and-ten hundred infantry, of which four hundred where men-at-arms and the rest smallfolk levies, alongside two hundred horsemen. Behind them marched an odd sight of a small caravan of smallfolk artisans and their families, numbering just under fifty. The new immigrants to Wolfsport included carpenters, masons, blacksmiths, tailors and their families, a chandler, a silversmith, a bowyer, a Braavosi shipwright named Horesso, and of course, Lucos of Flea Bottom. All met by myself and/or Wyman and eventually convinced to move up to Wolfsport due to lost homes and businesses in the Sack while I was setting up the Wayfinders Guild since it was always good to get more skilled workers.

"So, cousin, I forgot to ask. Did Prince Stannis ever give you any notes on how to tame lionesses in bed?" Wyman asks me with a grin and I chuckle. "As a matter of fact, he gave me one great nugget of knowledge." I said and my cousin looked curious. I frown and put on my best Stannis impression. "They like getting yanked by the hair!"

A/N: Finally, out of King's Landing! Woo! We see the creation of the Sunset Trade Company and see some internal friction between the "Big 3" of the new company. The Lannisters and Seastarks are the two main ones vying for control and influence with Lord Mallister being the weakest of the three. A lot of lords are interested in the trade fleet and are sending their brothers, cousins, sons and nephews in hopes of riches and experience. We also find out Myrra's big secret! Next time, we're finally in the North!

This is an interesting premise. Lots of little typos and missed words, but nothing too crazy.

Thanks! I will spoiler one thing and say the SI won't bring gunpowder to Westeros and I personally don't like those fics. (Just a personal preference). Fireworks or bottle rockets could be a thing because I could see some version of that existing in Yi-Ti but not cannons.

This is the biggest shame honestly. What's funny is that full plate armor came about after the introduction of cannons to Europe. Guns were first used in the mid-14th Century, while full plate came about in the 15th and 16th century. Before that it was a coat of plates or mail hauberks.

I haven't read many fics that actually go to the trouble of introducing guns and of the few that I have seen. Only 2 of them have executed it properly. Most fics in this setting go out of their way to introduce everything else except guns, usually with an A/N stating that guns would break the setting (it won't) or it doesn't fit the theme of fantasy medieval times (it does). Which is amusing because all this industry will naturally lead people to try to make things to kill each other faster and gunpowder isn't all that difficult to make. Especially if Yi-Ti does have rudimentary gunpowder artillery. With all this new skilled labor popping up to support these new industries someone might try to replicate that in Westeros (or something similar) which should lead to the development of a firearm of some sort. At the end of the day it's a metal tube that shoots a metal ball really fast, nothing super complicated.

But, unnecessary comment aside, will the MC do anything with magic or magical materials? Something to make his military punch above its weight in the inevitable future wars?

A/N: Not gonna lie, deciding on Jaime's fate was hard and I'm not sure how realistic this is. Wanna hear your thoughts.

Interesting punishment. I wonder how this'll affect Cersei's incest and cucking ways. Hopefully Stannis can fuck those notions out of her in some capacity.

This is the only other time it pops up. The other times it's called Gold Dragons.

Interesting punishment. I wonder how this'll affect Cersei's incest and cucking ways. Hopefully Stannis can fuck those notions out of her in some capacity.

Dragons

This is the only other time it pops up. The other times it's called Gold Dragons.

TFTC

Thanks for the comment! Yeah I decided not to go for gunpowder in this fic. Could the SI have introduced it if he wanted to? Maybe? I vaguely know the ingredients but not the proportions or anything plus I didn't want to turn this into a gunpowder fic. Not to mention the other lords would quickly grasp the power of gunpowder and create their own, eventually overtaking the SI's initial advantage.
As for the currency names? Yeah I was going to have Robert change the name only to check the books and wiki and realized Robert never changed the names of the coins. The gold coin is still called a dragon even years later in canon so I switched it back to dragons and thought I caught them all! lol.

Chapter 16 New
Chapter 16

Outskirts of Winterfell, Last Moon of 281 A.C., Thirty days later…

We marched out of Castle Cerwyn mid-morning for the final leg of our journey to Winterfell. The Northern host had dwindled somewhat as houses Reed, Dustin, Wells, Flints of Flint's Finger, Ryswells and Manderlys broke off early to head back to their holdfasts south of Winterfell. It was only a half days march from the seat of House Cerwyn before we started to see the great gray spires of Winterfell in the distance in the late afternoon sun.

Wyman and I were in a great mood when we woke up this morning and why wouldn't we? We had the honor of riding with Lord Stark today and it was when we arrived in Winterfell no less! Lord Stark had been riding with two houses every day for the march. We rode with him and Lord Dustin back when we marched to Castle Darry and House Seastark was overdue for a second ride with the Warden of the North. As for who we were riding with…

"Finally! Winterfell is in sight! We would have been here at least a day earlier if it wasn't for that pack of vagrants you dragged with us, Lord Seastark!" Lord Richard Karstark complains as he rode with his cousin Arthor Karstark, who voices his agreement. Arthor's older brother, Cregan Karstark wasn't with us because he was in King's Landing with his new position in the Goldcloaks. Just my luck that Lord Stark had us ride with the Karstarks, whose lord wasted no time in being a pain in my ass.

"That's a load of bollocks and you know it, Lord Karstark! The smallfolk that travelled with me have kept pace with the Northern host the entire march!" I counter, annoyance lacing my tone. The band of smallfolk migrants from King's Landing certainly raised eyebrows amongst the Northerners. When they heard they were headed for Wolfsport, they thought it strange, but shrugged and continued marching. Except for the Karstarks, Umbers, and Boltons, who made comments calling them vagrants and beggars and insisting this was proof that I was more Southroner than Northerner. Thankfully, most Northern lords didn't listen to their malarky because they simply didn't care about my little caravan of skilled artisans and their families, they just wanted to go home.

"Why did you even bother bringing Southroners here anyway? Is it to make Wolfsport more like Lannisport?" Lord Karstark sneered as Wyman and Arthor stared daggers at one another.

"I need skilled artisans for a growing city. Not that you would know anything about that. Karhold and the tiny hamlet next to it have what, five hundred people?" I scoff.

Lord Karstark glares at me. "Karhold and Kar Village have over thrice that number and I see you're just as arrogant as your father!"

"Arrogant! My father was good man and a better man than you'll ever be!" I snarl angrily.

"Aye, he was an arrogant enough to think you were good enough to wed a Stark! I remember how confident he was, that Lady Lyanna would be betrothed to you." Lord Karstark said before his mouth curled up in a mocking smile as Lord Stark's eyes widened. "He was quite furious when she was promised to the Baratheons. You should have seen his face when stormed out of Winterfell's great hall, red as a redbird!" He said with a mocking laugh, mentioning the Westerosi name for a cardinal. Arthor snickered while Wyman bristled with indignation.

I suppress a grimace as memories of my father, Lord Torrhen Seastark returning to Castle Warg still in a foul mood and ranting that night at dinner about how the Starks were "Always overlooking us!" And how we were "Being passed over for Southroners!". The lack of marriages with House Stark has always been a point of resentment for House Seastark, especially seeing the Karstarks receive marriage after marriage in contrast. The only time we had a marriage with House Stark was when Lyarra Seastark wed King Artos Stark III, and a result of their union was King Torrhen Stark VI, better known as the King Who Knelt. This unfortunate distinction hurt House Seastark's reputation amongst the Northern Lords for a good century, who would mutter about weak Seastark ladies being bad marriage partners. This embarrassment and mockery forced House Seastark to invest in the education of their children, both sons and daughters, even more to not have another repeat of that marriage.

"What!? When was this!?" Lord Stark looked at me confused with a slightly alarmed tinge to his voice.

I shrugged. "Probably when you were in the Vale." I said simply with no resentment.

Well, I personally had no resentment since it happened before my merging with Hugo's soul, but the Hugo before I arrived felt some resentment at being passed over.

"Your father…" Lord Stark began with trepidation but I cut him off.

"With all due respect, Lord Stark. Yes, my father pushed for a betrothal between your sister and I, but your father decided to betroth her to the, at the time, heir to Storm's End. Was he unhappy with your father's decision? Absolutely. But when you called the banners, he still gathered our levies, marched south, and fought for you. He died for you and the North!" I say with a steely edge to my voice creeping in at the end as I stared at Lord Stark dead in the eyes.

"Not to mention his brother, my father, gave his life at the Tower of Joy to rescue your sister!" Wyman cuts in and Lord Stark grimaces.

"I was not insinuating anything about your father, Lord Seastark. I was just surprised since my sister never mentioned this!" He says in a calm tone and I nod my head.

"I understand Lord Stark. You were in the Vale at the time and I'm unsure if your sister even knew about it, but Lord Benjen knew so it wouldn't surprise me if she did. Besides, I found my own beautiful and intelligent, future Lady of Sea Dragon Point." I say with a small smile.

"Ha! You couldn't get a direwolf, so you settled for a lioness!" Lord Karstark sneers and I turn to glare at him.

"I didn't settle, Karstark!" I snarled, dropping the title and getting satisfaction in seeing the pompous blowhard bristle with indignation as I continued. "It's funny now that I think about it, the Lannisport Lannisters share a lot in common with House Seastark. Both loyal to their sworn lords while having to deal with fellow cadet branches that are loud and obnoxious…" I trail off as Lord Karstark's face contorts in anger.

"Enough. Both of you." The lord of Karhold was cut off from responding by Lord Stark's icy voice. He didn't yell, because he didn't need to.

As we rode closer to Winterfell, the two massive walls made of gray granite stones becoming visible along with Winter Town, the sprawling town next to the mighty castle.

"My lords, look ahead and tell me, what do you see?" Lord Stark's voice lost its icy edge and we looked at him in confusion. He simply gestured his head forward and we both turned to look at Winterfell.

"Uh…Winterfell?" I say slowly. "The seat of House Stark?" Lord Karstark ventures his own guess.

"Aye, Winterfell. The heart of the North and ancestral home of House Stark…" Lord Stark nods. "…And the ancestral home of all Starks." He says as he looks both of us, his gray eyes meeting our bluish-gray ones. "I wanted to ride with you both by my side as we enter the gates of Winterfell to remind you both we are kin, distant though it may be. Karstark, Seastark, it matters not. You may not be the Starks, but you're still Starks." He declares solemnly and both Seastark and Karstark alike are surprised by his words and quietly reflected on them.

"My father ignored both houses in pursuit of Southron bonds and alliances…" Lord Stark said again after a moment. "Something I will not repeat. It is why Lord Karstark's third son is fostering at Winterfell and one of my children will foster at Castle Warg." He says, glancing at Lord Karstark, then myself.

"You're fostering one of his sons!" "You're sending a Stark to Castle Warg!" Lord Karstark and I both exclaimed before turning to each other and narrowing our eyes. The Warden of the North gives a tired sigh at our reaction.

"Aye. To reforge ties between House Stark and its cadet branches and to bridge the divide between your houses." Lord Stark answered us and we took a moment to absorb his words. I couldn't say I was pleased with one of Karstark's sons fostering in Winterfell, but my own fostering of one of the Stark children made up for it. I could see Lord Karstark and his cousin mulling over Lord Stark's words, until Arthor's eyes widened before turning to whisper into the Lord of Karhold's ear. Lord Karstark's face shifted to alarmed at what his cousin was whispering as he looked between Lord Stark and I.

"Lord Stark, you said one of your children, not sons, correct? Surely you're not thinking of fostering a daughter there, are you!?" Lord Karstark said with wariness and I smirked as he picked up on Lord Stark's word choice.

"We will see. But yes, fostering a daughter in Castle Warg is on the table." Lord Stark answered and Lord Karstark glared at me, knowing full well the implications of fostering a daughter to another house.

"Lord Stark, if you're going to give a marriage to Seastark, then I humbly ask for a betrothal between our houses as well!" He turned to his liege and it was my turn to bristle with indignation.

"Oh, piss off Karstark, your family has had what? Eight, nine marriages with the Starks to our one? I think your house's fragile pride can handle going without a Stark marriage for a bit longer." I growl at Lord Karstark only for him to smirk.

"Ten marriages, actually." He smugly corrects me as I grit my teeth. "It's funny, the Greystarks rebelled because they didn't get a Stark marriage…" He trails off and the implication of his words make my blood boil.

"How dare you, you fucking whoreson…" I begin to say, rising my voice as he glares at my insult before Lord Stark intervenes again.

"I said enough!" His icy tone returning. "I will hear no more mention of the Greystarks, Lord Karstark." He says, decisively end our argument.

Lord Karstark and I briefly glare at each other before turning to Winterfell as we reached the outskirts of Winter Town. I looked at the impressive double walls, the first and shorter being eighty feet tall, while the second being a full twenty feet higher, then down to the main gates of the castle. Images flashed of the castle from both the show and how I imagined it in the books, but neither could ever match up to the real thing. The Red Keep was bigger and grander, certainly, but there was something about Winterfell that made it both awe-inspiring and Northern.

We trotted through the muddy streets, passing by houses both occupied and empty with the latter being noticeably more prevalent. This is because of a quirk of Northern settlements, they essentially have two populations, the summer and winter populations. Winter Town in spring, summer and most of autumn was around three thousand people but that number would increase fivefold when winter came. That's because many smallfolk would migrate to settlements during winter for better rates of survival. All Northern settlements experienced it to varying degrees. For instance, Wolfsport grows from thirty thousand to five-and-forty thousand, Barrowton grows from twenty thousand to forty thousand and White Harbor rises from sixty thousand to eighty thousand.

I saw smallfolk come out to greet us as we were passing an alehouse called the Smoking Log, they started to give cheers and well wishes to the Warden of the North.

"Hail the victorious Starks!" "Bless you, Lord Eddard Stark!" "Long may you reign!" The crowd gave their cheers and as armed riders moved up the sides to clear the way for us, it turned to be no need as the people got out of the way on their own.

"Lord Seastark." Lord Stark turns to me. "I don't care that you brought Southron smallfolk to the North, but they will not be staying in Winterfell." He says in a tone that brook no arguments, not that I was going to.

"Of course, Lord Stark. I've already informed them to find accommodations in Winter Town." I respond and Lord Stark nods.

We reach the market square and passed the wooden market stalls and the crowds comments started shifting towards who was riding with their liege lord.

"Who're they?" "That one's Lord Karstark, but I don't recognize the other!" "A black direwolf? House Seastark!?" "But he doesn't look like Lord Seastark?" "I heard he died at the Trident and that one's the new lord." I heard various smallfolk comment as we rode passed a well in the center of the market square.

As we reached the main gatehouse, flanked by two huge crenelated bulwarks, the drawbridge opens to let us in and we cross the moat that separates the two walls to enter the second gate. Once through into the castle proper we stopped and horses and dismounted as stable boys took away our horses as more lords arrived behind us. We were greeted by the sight of the acting Stark of Winterfell, Benjen Stark, the new castellan, Vayon Poole, and Maester Luwin stood to welcome us.

"Brother, welcome home! Winterfell is yours." Lord Benjen said to his brother as they hugged. "It gladdens me that you made it, and even more so that you rescued Lyanna!" The two brothers smiled at one another.

"Aye, brother. I'm glad we rescued her and avenged father and brother. Now, we'll talk later, but we must get the lords settled in." Lord Stark left his brother to talk with the Winterfell castellan and maester as Lord Benjen looked between us.

"Lord Karstark, Lord Hu-, I mean Lord Seastark. Welcome to Winterfell!" Lord Stark's younger brother greets us with an uneasy smile as he looks between us. Lord Karstark smirks, thinking Lord Benjen's slip-up with my name was some form of targeted slight against me, but I knew him well enough to know that wasn't the case.

Looking through Hugo's memories, out of all the Stark siblings, Hugo saw Brandon the most but got along with Benjen the most. The last time we spoke was at Harrenhall, only briefly, when I was simply Lord Hugo, not Lord Seastark. Both cadet branches returned his greeting as we waited for the other lords to come through the gates.

"I heard much has happened in the South." Benjen comments slowly and I let Lord Karstark summarize the events of Robert's Rebellion up to the Battle of the Trident as more lords trotted in on their horses and dismounted.

"Is it true about your inventions, Lord Seastark? That this wayfinder always points north?" Lord Benjen asks me and I simply smile. "See for yourself." I pull out my new personal wayfinder from a small bag tied to my belt, making a note to myself to get a tailor to invent pockets, and hand it over to him. He inspects the outside, the top painted in the colors and sigil of House Seastark, before flipping it open and looking at the needle. He turns around a bit to test it as his brother returns just as the lords finished arriving. Both Starks stand together as the eldest addresses the gathering.

"My lords, welcome to Winterfell! A feast is already being prepared thanks to my brother!" I and the other lords cheered at the thought of a good hearty meal after hours of riding. He then gestured to a group of some twenty servants.

"The servants will lead you to your accommodations in the guest house and we will have our feast in the great hall." Lord Stark informed as the servants approached the lords and began to lead them to their guest quarters. Our guide was a middle-aged brunette maid that asked us if we needed anything and I requested a bath be drawn, wanting to get myself clean both for basic hygiene and being sweaty from a half day's ride. We got to our guest quarters and the maid begins to draw me a bath as Wyman and I begin to unstrap our riding leathers. When the maid informs me that the bath is ready, I enter the room, finish stripping myself and sink into the warm water, letting my worries float away for a little while…

A few hours later…

I was in a black tunic sitting at one of the eight long tables in the Winterfell great hall sipping the local Winterfell brew of black beer. I could spy Wyman talking with his future goodfather and goodbrother as I put a forkful of roasted boar in my mouth and chewed. I sat across my namesake, Lord Hugo Big Bucket Wull with his second son and new heir, Mikken Wull. The topic of conversation was the Big Bucket's favorite: food.

"Eggs with seagrease is one of my favorite ways to break my fast when available." the Wull of Ice Harbor pats his large belly, then sipping from his tankard.

"Aye, on Bear Island, we use seagrease in bread puddings sometimes. At least, when we can find it on a beach." Lord Jorah Mormont replied to my namesake. I take another sip of black beer as I scrunch my face in confusion, searching through both Hugo and my Earth memories of anything that went by that name but drawing a blank.

"What's seagrease?" I ask after giving up.

"It's a solid, waxy substance found on the beaches or floating in the sea, tends to be dull gray but sometimes it's black. It has a sweet, earthy smell and we use it for cooking and burning like incense. Every once and awhile, when a leviathan beaches, we can find some in its intestines." Mikken Wull answers my question and I was lost until he mentioned the smell and that it came from the leviathans.

Westeros didn't have sperm whales like from Earth, instead they had leviathans. The closest Earth animal to a leviathan was the long extinct livyatan, which itself was a slightly bigger sperm whale with bigger teeth on both it's jaws instead of just the lower jaw. Got that? Good, now take that livyatan and make it the size of a blue whale, that's a leviathan. Since they take the place of sperm whales in this world, and there's only one substance I know that's waxy, smelly and comes from sperm whales…

"Ambergris?" I say disbelievingly. "Amber-what?" Mikken responds. "Er, gray amber?" I try again only to get confused looks from my conversation partners and sigh.

"I've never heard it called 'seagrease', but I've heard it called 'gray amber'." I say sipping my tankard.

"Gray amber?" The Wull of Ice Harbor repeats the name as if tasting it. "You make it sound valuable, is it like yellow or blue amber?"

"Despite the name it's not like the other ambers. Can't imagine using it as jewelry." I say and the table chuckles. "No, its value comes form being used to make perfumes."

"Perfumes?" Mikken Wull repeats, befuddled. "It's got a strong musk sure, but it doesn't strike me as a scent for perfumes."

"Ah, it's not for its scent, though it apparently adds a nice, earthy undertone to the fragrances, but that it makes perfumes last longer. Now I don't know about you, but I know nothing about making perfumes. It's fortunate that Wolfsport happens to have a perfumer…" I trail off before taking another bite of boar, glancing to see the Wull and Lord Mormont mulling over my words.

"We have five, mayhaps six pounds of the substance back home in Ice Harbor." The Big Bucket says with a smile "I will give you most of it as part of our wedding gift and sell our future harvests at fair price. On one condition…" He glances at his son for a moment. "Mikken, my new heir, is wedding Gilliane Norrey when we return, and I want their firstborn son and heir fostered in Castle Warg. I can already tell you've got some wild ideas planned, and I want the Wulls to benefit!" He said to mine and the table's surprise.

"Well, you have my thanks for the wedding gift, and I'd be honored to foster the future Wull of Ice Harbor! Though I sincerely hope he doesn't become the Wull too soon!" I quip and the Wulls chuckle. "What about you Lord Mormont?"

The Lord of Bear Island contemplates for a moment as he sips his black beer. "Bear Island has about two or three pounds of this gray amber and I can sell some of it, along with future harvests, for a fair price. When would you want it?" He finally answers.

I smile. "As soon as possible, I'd like to possible have some made by the time of my wedding so we can add it to the trade fleet, having more trade goods to sell is aways a good thing."

"Then consider it an early wedding gift!" The large, jolly Big Bucket cuts in and we both laugh

"Why would we need more trade goods? You said iron, copper, and tin will sell for lot down there!" Mikken Wull asked.

"Oh, it certainly will, more than in the Seven Kingdoms, but we won't be the only houses selling those metals to the Summer Islanders. The River and Westerlords will be selling them as well, undercutting the price of metals. Not to mention the Royal Trade Fleet will arrive moons after our trade fleet means the price of iron and other metals will lower sooner or later." I started to explain only for Lord Mormont to take over.

"Aye, and if you only depend on a single trade good, you're vulnerable if the price lowers for any number of reasons. It's why Bear Island tries not to depend on our bear pelts, we could always use another item for trade. I want to see if your perfume idea works out." I nod and eat a forkful of roasted vegetables before I begin discussing the price of the gray amber. We had just settled on a fair price where they'd get more than if they sold it as seagrease, but also that I was still getting it for fairly cheap. If I could make better perfumes with the gray amber, I could make a sizeable profit selling both overseas and to Westerosi ladies through the trade company. I'm brought out of my thoughts when Lord Stark calls for our attention.

"My Lords, I have two announcements for the North!" A silence fell upon the great hall as the lords and highborn focused all their attention on Lord Stark.

"The first, is that we have received a raven from Riverrun. My new wife, Caitlyn Stark, has given birth to a healthy boy, who we have already decided to name Robb Stark!" The great hall erupted into cheers and congratulations. I clapped along as I knew this was coming. "She will stay in Riverrun with my son for three moons before travelling North." The Warden of the North continued after the cheers died down.

"The second concerns House Stark and fosterings." He says and the lords look intrigued and I surmise he's announcing his fostering plans with Lord Karstark and I.

"House Stark will foster two of its children, one at Castle Warg and one at White Habor, as well as foster Lord Karstark's third son and Lord Dustin's firstborn son and heir in Winterfell." He announced to the shock of great hall, including my own. I search for Lord Karstark to see if he knew about this and when I saw him from across room, he was chugging his black beer before glaring at me as if I had something to do with it. The lords began discussing this new development in Northern politics as my cousin Wyman came to sit at our table.

"Lord Wull, Lord Mikken! Good to see you! Lord Mormont! I forgot to congratulate you on your cousin, Lady Dacey, being chosen as one of the Queen's ladies-in-waiting with Lady Berena Hornwood!" My cousin slurs slightly and takes a gulp of black beer.

"Thank you, Lord Wyman." Lord Mormont greets my drunken cousin with amusement. "I'm excited for your wedding with Lady Elsa Slate when we get to Castle Warg."

My cousin grins and says "Yeah, me too! Thanks for coming to the wedding, Lord Mormont! Lord Wull!"

"Oh, it's no problem, Lord Wyman! It makes sense to stop by in Sea Dragon Point for your wedding and then sail back to our homes." The Wull of Ice Harbor replies to my cousin, mentioning that his wedding was happening mere days after we returned and that the Mormonts, Wulls, Glovers and their bannermen except the Whitehills, Fishers and Slates were attending. Wyman was talking with the Slates earlier to arrange for Lady Elsa to arrive in Wolfsport by ship a few days before we arrived.

"I'm excited to see Wolfsport again! I'm even more excited to try the whores with you before we get married!" Mikken Wull quips to my cousin and they both laugh. I smile and shake my head before finishing my tankard…

Later…

I walk toward the privy after asking for directions from a servant, a slight sway to my steps after the good amount of black beer I drank. I spot a long figure leaving the privy and find that it's Lord Karstark, swaying heavily. I decide to ignore him, my full-to-bursting bladder taking priority over my beef with the loud-mouthed lord.

"I sees through you." Lord Karstark apparently decided that's not going to happen. "You mays have Lord Stark and alls of 'em fooled. But not me." I roll my eyes as I pass him, continuing to walk to privy ignoring the drunk buffoon, at least until I get to the privy door and he throws one final parting shot.

"But its nots just me, Seastark! The Queen sees you for the Greystark yous are!" The whoreson says, then drunkenly laughs as he walks away. I enter the privy with a heavy feeling in my gut as I wonder what bullshit Karstark was telling the queen.

The next morning…

We left Winterfell mid-morning. The western shore houses marching with us up the Wolfswood Trail, the closest thing the vast forest had to a road, though calling it a road would be extremely generous. It was basically a foot path, worn and beaten down for centuries if not millennia, barely wide enough to fit a horse cart in parts of the trail. I had already sent a raven to Castle Warg from the capital to my mother prepare for Wyman's wedding and I sent one this morning, informing her that we'll arrive in twenty days. I saw Wyman nursing a hangover and I looked back at Winterfell, admiring the impressive castle and heart of the North before turning my head forward and continuing the journey home.

A/N: Finally in the North after 18 chapters lol. We see more of the Karstark-Seastark rivalry and the introduction of ambergris/gray amber/seasgrease as a potential moneymaker for House Seastark. A bit of a shorter one cuz I've been busy with work. Enjoy!

Rickard Karstark is really starting to piss me off. He's continuously aggravating this beef and is beyond presumptuous. The rivalry is approaching Percy vs Neville/ York vs Lancaster levels. Can't wait for Rickard and his House to be cast down.

Wait, Lyanna has some sort of problem with Seastarks? I thought that was a red herring and things were handled.

Wait, Lyanna has some sort of problem with Seastarks? I thought that was a red herring and things were handled.

She had some dreams of a black wolf and golden lion killing a white winged wolf pup. Then she got the news of the Seastark and Lannister wedding. Then it was further compounded by the trade company and the appearance of Tywin and Hugo growing closer even though that's not really the case.

In my personal opinion this is Bloodraven fucking with seastark because Hugo's continued existence has thrown a wrench into the prophecy and now he's trying to do damage control. Lyanna as we know is pretty impulsive and quick to rush to judgement so this little push is all he needs to have her set against Hugo.

That sounds like some nonsense Brynden would do.
