Android 17 died at the hands of Trunks, but someone in the afterlife has other plans for him, and they involve a whole new Earth. They want him to protect it, but he's not one to follow orders. However, as the years pass, he begins to learn to be Human again in ways he never thought possible. Perhaps all it took was a little bit of Human touch.

Prologue: Another World

Android 17, or Lapis as only a few knew him by originally was facing a situation he had not expected. Not in his wildest dreams. He was dead. At the hands of the little squirt they let grow. The kid who they used to have fun beating up and torturing. He never really thought that his death would come so quickly.

Naturally, he was quite angry. Angry at himself, angry at his sister, and most importantly, furious at Trunks.

That kid they thought was gone had returned and completely dominated them. It was a completely overwhelming amount of force. There was nothing they could do. If he were a more moral man, he would have accepted his fate cleanly, but he was not a good or kind man.

He lived for himself and himself only, besides maybe his sister in some aspects, he didn't give a single care or concern to anything, just killing humans and burning everything to the ground.

How dare that pipsqueak put an end to his fun!

It was quite infuriating, almost as much as the situation he was in now.

He didn't even have his body anymore, and things just kept stacking up against his favor. Now he was nothing but a dark red fluffy ball-like cloud on an endlessly long bridge that snaked over an endless yellowish cloud sky. That wasn't important though. He needed to get his body back, and the sooner the better.

He began hopping to the edge of the bridge, but the large metallic walls on the side were just too high for him to hop off no matter how hard he tried.

He grit his nonexistent teeth, and took a running start, but he barely cleared seven inches.

He simply could not do it.

His next thought was to incite a riot, and perhaps get whatever brought him here's attention. 'Going straight to the source' so to say.

And so, he rammed himself into several other of the puffballs, but they simply ignored him as if he didn't exist, and he harmlessly bumped into them, not moving them and inch.

Okay, so violence wasn't working. Maybe verbal provocations would work?

He floated over to one of the spirits and began trying to provoke it, calling it all sorts of insults, and threatening to kill it. Yet it didn't move, as if it couldn't hear him at all whatsoever.

This only frustrated him further. What was he to do?

There was no beginning or end to this bridge that he could see. Well, if they weren't going to stop him, then he would skip the line. People who waited in line were suckers anyways.

Hovering down the road, he enjoyed this tiny amount of power he expressed over the other balls of fluffy clouds. He whizzed past them, and they didn't even seem to notice him al all whatsoever.

However, after some time, he came to the entrance of a huge house with a large triangular shingled roof and several blue and red humanoids in casual business attire with horns on the side of their heads. They had glasses and looked like overworked, drained office workers.

One of them saw him, and began running towards him. It was about to say something when it pulled out a ringing very old model silver flip phone from it's pocket and answered it.

Android 17 sped towards it, and there was still half a mile between them and the flat road. As he approached, he found himself stopped by some mysterious force that looked down upon him from above. It was a mental pressure that he had not felt, even from Trunks. It made his mind twist and shiver in his head. It was as if his brain was being pounded to mush.

Someone, or something immensely powerful was there, waiting for him to arrive while playing with his head.

Seemingly finished with his phone call, the horned man ran up to him, then took a moment to catch his breath in front of him.

"You, are you Lapis-?" He began to say his full name, but Android 17 cut him off.

"Yes. What do you want?" Android 17 growled, letting his anger at his situation sink into his words.

"The...Supreme...Kai...Wants...To speak with you." The fellow said through heavy breathing, as he hadn't fully caught his breath from sprinting over.

"Supreme Kai? Who's that?" Android 17 asked, curious if it was the presence he had felt that was quite overwhelming just a moment ago.

The horned fellow seemed to be taken aback by the question, and his blue face almost went red as he seemed to be getting worked up.

"Who is the Supreme Kai? Why you! Grrrrr." He growled and hopped around in anger for a moment before correcting his behavior.

"If you must know, the Supreme Kai is the most important God in the universe besides of course the Grand Supreme Kai, who is currently not with us. Be honored that he has called for you with an offer. Evil people like you usually never get such a chance." The being leaned forward and vented his anger at him.

"So, take me to him." Android 17 replied, not giving this little freak the satisfaction of retaliating. He wanted to, he so wanted to blast him to bits, but he couldn't in this form. Not for any lack of him trying.

The little horned office worker squinted his eyes angrily at him but acquiesced after a moment. It seemed he had made an enemy in the lower management of wherever this was, but he didn't care.

Within seconds, the space around them twisted and blurred, and Android 17 found himself standing in a small and quite pretty office which consisted of light blue walls, with large metallic shelves and cabinets, upon which many folders and briefcases lay.

In front of him was a large wooden polished redwood desk, lit by a large ceiling light that was round with frosted glass, giving a soft light on the room. Behind the desk was a short being who had a white mohawk, light purple skin and long sharp ears, like how one might picture on a demon. His thin eyes were squinted as he watched the android's soul appear in front of the desk.

"Greetings mortal. I am calling you here because I believe that there is potentially good buried behind all the Evil sins you have committed. That the human boy you once were still exists somewhere in you. Am I wrong in thinking such?" The being asked, his eyes narrowing to small slits as he washed his gaze over Android 17.

"What could you possibly know about me, Alien?" Android 17 growled in an attempt to intimidate him, forgetting that he was just a puffy little red cloud.

"I know all about you, Lapis. From the moment you were born, to the second you were dead, all of your history was written for me to read, and I have a lot of time on my hands. Almost as much as you would if you hadn't chosen a path of destruction. You know, what the doctor did to you extended your lifespan for thousands, if not tens of thousands of years, yet you chose to throw it away." The being spoke, his voice sleek and slimy, akin to a thick coating of oil atop every syllable.

Android 17 tried to speak, but found he couldn't.

"No. Don't speak. You don't really have a choice in this matter. This result was chosen as soon as you died to Trunks." The being said, raising a pointer finger up to stop any rejection.

The Supreme Kai shook his head in thought.

"What was I saying again? Ahh right, you have a new job. Forget your fun you had with your sister. That's long over." He said, recovering his train of thought. As he sat at his desk, he picked up a sheaf of papers from his desk, looking over them with an air of importance.

"You see, I have been contacted by someone from a different timeline, someone very important, and he needed my help. Well, he asked for Trunks, but I have other plans for that boy. So, you'll have to do as a replacement." The supreme Kai finished looking at Android 17, who was fuming but unable to do anything to free himself or fight back.

"Essentially, you'll be going to a new Earth. It's not tool much different than the one you're used to, but there are no fighters like you, trunks, Goku, Vegeta, or your sister Lazuli there. Essentially, you will be the single most powerful being on that planet. Even more so than you were on your Earth." He finished, feeling the puzzlement in Android 17's air.

"Let me explain further. The God who contacted me came from the future of that world, spending all his power in contacting me to send help over to the past. In short, there is only once chance, and it's a one way trip. You won't be coming back. Now, let me explain what you have to do. You have to save the world from the threat that will descend upon it not too long after you arrive. Don't bother asking me the threat. You'll immediately know what it is when it happens" The Supreme Kai spoke, giving a small smile as he felt Android 17's mood darken.

"Yes, you don't like that do you? You're a destroyer, right? But too bad, you have no say in this. Besides, I have put a restriction on your body and soul. If you kill humans needlessly in a way that I deem pointless, you will be removed and put in a pocket dimension prison for an amount of time that I deem long enough. Oh and don't think you can use it to get out of sticky situations, as twenty years in the prison is less than a second in the other timeline. So feel free to set yourself up to fail." The Supreme Kai chuckled before looking Android 17 in his nonexistent eyes.

"Let me be very clear. You are going there to protect Humanity, not destroy it. If you fail in your job too many times, I will be forced to end you myself. Do I make myself clear?" the Supreme Kai finished coldly.

"Crystal" Android 17 growled out, having realized that this was out of his hands.

"Good. I'm glad you catch on quick. Good luck in your new world. I'll be watching every moment" The Supreme Kai said, his words almost feeling like thick venom being injected into his veins directly from his mouth.

With that said, everything turned a blinding white as Android 17 became immensely dizzy.

------------------------------------------

Android 17 opened his eyes to the sights of what he thought was a peaceful Earth. The sun was shining, and the birds were singing, but he could think of nothing but the words of that 'Supreme Kai'. He had never been so utterly humiliated. With Trunks, he had the chance to fight back, but this being made an utter fool out of him, and it infuriated him.

At the moment he was standing on the sidewalk outside of a park, mere feet away from a wooden bench that rested against the black metal railings of a park fence. The summer sun shone through the trees that created a cooling canopy over the side of the street, across from large rectangular buildings of a shape he was wholly unused to. On his earth, all the buildings were round like domes.

Here they were packed close together, and sharply rectangular.

How awful.

Still, he needed to protect this world, at least until he got strong enough to defeat that 'Supreme Kai' as he was called. He felt the hot desire run through his veins, but quickly calmed himself. Right now he was not a match for the Supreme Kai's power...But that didn't mean he wouldn't be in the future. If he trained that was.

And train he would. He hated being under someone else's thumb. Right when he thought he had escaped Dr. Gero, he was brought back from the dead to be someone else's lap dog? Hell no, not for long. Not if he had a say in it.

"Which I don't" he mumbled and walked over to the bench, sitting down on it, and ruffling his black t-shirt and causing the RR to fold in on itself. His bandanna that he had tied loosely around his neck rode up to his chin, and he looked slightly amusing to anyone who would see him in passing. However, aside from the passing cars, nobody walked by at the moment.

Resting his arms at the top of the bench, spreading them wide, Android 17 began thinking about what he would do in the meanwhile. For now he would comply, but it didn't mean he was going to do it in the way of a good guy.

Instead, he would consolidate power in his own way. Through force if necessary.

A smirk crossed his face as he began formulating just how he would do things, and do things he would.
